I believe they were officially eliminated with their loss to Miami this past weekend. I'm not necessarily a Rex hater, but they may as well can the GM and others and start from scratch. Hopefully it isn't just Rex that is let go.

If you watch the last minute of the Steelers/Cincy playoff game last year you would see a prime example of a team out of control. That’s on the head coach. Of course, being a Steelers fan it was to my benefit and I laughed my arse off except for the part when they hurt AB.

That was just a high profile example of his team being out of control, it is not the only example. They have a good young QB and Wide receiver (Dalton and Green) and are wasting their best years, much like Indy....

According to Ask.com, he winners of the “retread award” for being head coach of the most teams are...

Wade Phillips and Jimmy Conzelman. Both have coached five teams.

I did see the game and know exactly what you're talking about. The rematches this year weren't nearly as good.

The Boys should definitely be set up for a few years with a good young QB, RB and WR. It will be interesting to see what they do with Romo in the off-season. I imagine they will just let him go as it is so hard to trade in the NFL. I can see Romo ending up on the Broncos. They need a QB for a few years giving Paxton Lynch time.

Strange because Cincy didn't really lose anyone and they sort of fell apart this year. Green lost some games due to injury, but if you can't overcome an injury or two, you're not that good of a team. The Steelers have had times where I didn't even know the names of the guys playing WR for them they lost so many. Again, you have to wonder about the coaching....

I think those relationships are more complementary than cause-and-effect. Who is to say that the coach didn’t make the quarterback in those cases?

When you look at records for most losses in any sport, you'll usually find that the record holders are actually among the best at the position. Look at the all-time leaders among baseball pitchers in losses, or among hockey goaltenders. You'll find a lot of Hall of Famers at the top of these lists.

There's a simple reason for this: In order to set a record like that you have to be good enough to hang around for a long time.

In Fisher's case, I suspect he's lost a lot of games just because he's usually been coaching teams that aren't very talented. I would just ask how many really disappointing seasons he has had, where he was coaching a very talented team but failed to have them play up to their high expectations.

That’s because both of those guys were great defensive coaches for my Giants. LOL.

Very true. This year's one of those years where the fickle finger of fate smiled on the Cowboys. Kellen Moore's broken ankle opened the door for Dak.

Fisher’s lifetime is barely above .500. Dan Reeves has a better record than that. The Rams gave him five years, and a LOT of control and draft picks to shape the team as he saw fit. Five years later, the team is as bad or worse than when he got it. The Titans also failed to improve in his last years.

In the game before he got fired, it was clear that he lost the players themselves.
