As I get older I attend fewer concerts. I wish they began at 4pm instead of 10pm.

Here's my list:
The Mekons
Wynonna and the Big Noise
Pere Ubu
KT Tunstall
Hiss Golden Messenger
Kris Kristofferson
Valerie June
Dry Branch Fire Squad

TSO, Riverdance, Celtic Women, and Bands of America Grand Nationals. The latter is a national gathering of some of the best high school marching bands in competition. It is amazing that high school kids can achieve such a high level of musical and marching arts. If you are ever in Indy in early November, check it out.

None. Too expensive. Gone are the days when they were actually affordable

No kidding! I saw The Beatles in 1966 for $4.50.

I've gone to just a handful of real concerts in my 60 years. This year I had an opportunity to use someone else’s opera tickets. I attended Carmine and Silent Night at the Detroit Opera house with my voice teacher. Both were great, although I don't like Carmine as a person.;-) I also was really liked Silent Night. I was surprised, as it was a modern opera, with no memorable melodies. It was a great story and visually entertaining.

In Seattle, we now have a few great venues, and they seem to beat the Scalper armies too. I’ve seen a ton of good stuff at about $40 per ticket! Though I did pay $500 for the 2 Puscifer tickets because I got front row...had ALWAYS wanted to see Tool live.

Gee, that’s a good one. Too many to name. I usually hit three to five a month.

The big one was Iron Maiden at Ryougoku Kokugikan on April 20th.

Before and after that I’ve been to dozens of local gigs including Hell Freezes Over, Gotsu Totsu Kotsu, Voodoo Hawaiians, and other awesome famous local acts.

I hope you all had as much as I did this year.

Wasn’t 2016, but it’s the last show I’ve seen.

Dead and Company, Minneapolis, 11/21/15.

BLS inflation calculator figures that to be $33.52 in 2016 dollars, equivalent to $15.22 in 1986. Try finding a big-name concert with seats that cheap these days, even in the nosebleed section.

Agreed. I don’t go to the big arena shows as much as I used to. I prefer the local live houses or bars with forty to two hundred attendees, then party with my band friends afterwards.

PS. Shows start at 10 pm these days? Used to be at least two hours earlier for the headliner, even 15 years back.
