George Michael has died at his home in Oxfordshire.
The musician's publicist said that he had 'passed away peacefully' at his property in Goring at 1.42pm today.
Michael, 53, had previously battled drug addiction and come close to death after suffering from a bout of pneumonia in 2011.
However, the circumstances around his death are currently unexplained.

Michael, who was set to release a documentary in 2017, rose to fame as a member of Wham!, known for their hits Club Tropicana and Last Christmas.
The singer - whose real name is Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou - sold more than 100 million albums throughout a career spanning almost four decades.
In a statement, the star's publicist said: 'It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.

I noticed that, the BBC said his first partner died of pneumonia it was only when I read the Daily Mail that I learned he had AIDS.
It’s funny how after 30 years of AIDS awareness raising they now don’t want to mention it any more.
Which, ironically, may also be a contributing cause for George Michael's death.
I hope he did find a saving faith and actual repentance before the end.

They don’t want to associate AIDS with being homosexual. They can’t be truthful. They would prefer to cover up for political correctness.

I have known lesbians and they haven’t died... that I know of.
I don’t know any heteros who have died of AIDS or hepatitis. Colon cancer might be an outlier. I have known hetros who have died of other cancers but not colon.
I have known lesbians and they haven’t died... that I know of.
I know lesbians that haven’t died too. I have gay and lesbian people that are close friends or relatives. It’s not that I don’t like or care for them. Truth is truth.
And AIDS was never that closely associated with lesbians. It has been mostly associated with gay men.

When it comes to Christmas, I want uplifting and joyful.
You want the truth? I was expecting it. Did not know who it would be but I was expecting a celebrity death on today of all days and was checking the news outlets since I woke up for just this.
I was not let down.
2016 has just been that kind of year.
And so now we have all the stupid, disgusting jokes about homosexuals. they’re not even funny.
The guy was a good singer and this thread is announcing his death. Either make a RIP comment or just STFU!
