Physicists reveal sensational findings which could allow science fiction dreams to become reality
Professor Howard Wiseman and Dr Michael Hall, from Griffith Universitys Centre for Quantum Dynamics, claim that the idea of parallel universes is more than just science fiction.
Fellow researcher Dr Dirk-Andre Deckert, from the University of California, helped further the researchers theory, which goes against almost all conventional understanding of space and time.
If there really are multiple, interacting universes, then it would be possible for time travellers to visit Earth, and every imaginable scenario would be played out in a parallel universe at some point.
The teams Many Interacting Worlds Theory provides a whole new perspective on the ideas underpinning quantum theory, a notoriously complex strand of physics.
Professor Wiseman said: The idea of parallel universes in quantum mechanics has been around since 1957.
In the well-known Many-Worlds Interpretation, each universe branches into a bunch of new universes every time a quantum measurement is made.
All possibilities are therefore realised in some universes the dinosaur-killing asteroid missed Earth. In others, Australia was colonised by the Portuguese.
But critics question the reality of these other universes, since they do not influence our universe at all.
On this score, our Many Interacting Worlds approach is completely different, as its name implies.
According to the theory, our universe is just one of many enormous worlds, with some identical to our reality and others completely different.
The Express reports that the worlds are all real, and all on the same timeline, but interact when they essentially bump into each other.
Dr Hall believes that the groups sensational theory fits with current scientific understanding, offering a new perspective rather than rewriting the physics rule book completely.
He said: The beauty of our approach is that if there is just one world our theory reduces to Newtonian mechanics, while if there is a gigantic number of worlds it reproduces quantum mechanics.
In between it predicts something new that is neither Newtons theory nor quantum theory.
We also believe that, in providing a new mental picture of quantum effects, it will be useful in planning experiments to test and exploit quantum phenomena.

Just sayin’...
Maybe your alien life forms are what is taking thousands people all over the World. Search & Rescue people can’t find them and some say that it like “they disappeared off the face of the Earth.”

Parallel dimensions? I can see that possibility.
A universe for every possible probable event? utter nonsense by people with too much time on their hands.
But given the bizarre nature of quantum reality, there really can’t be any simple logical explanations for what’s actually going on. Quantum physics is off-the-charts weird. Totally foreign to what we experience in the everyday world. For example, quantum entities somehow appear to be instantaneously connected over arbitrarily long distances of space. They also appear to be in more than one place at one time. They exhibit properties of both wave and particles.
In some parallel universe, far far away, and near and interacting with this universe,
Hillary Clinton was elected president...
and republicans took it in stride...
while the democrats with Hillary continued to create a greater hell in that universe. Which the people who elected her deserve, as they were too stupid to realize that they were creating a hell for themselves, and Hillary was/is the devil, with the democrat leaders being the demons.
Why, the answer is obvious. Out of all the infinite possibilities, there has to be that one unlucky place no interdimensional traveler ever finds, right? So the lack of evidence is actually proof we are that one very special place. Solved!
Now, for my next trick, global warming. The lack of evidence is actually proof ... well, never mind. :)

A Tool Time reference. I think they were Binford ducks.
When you get married, you enter into an altared state.
String theory is in trouble given the current state of dark matter and gravity as an emergent force.!? I think he said a tacion pulse like Star Trek actually. Also he only said it “may be” possible. And it may. Worm holes may be possible. Converting matter to energy and back again may be possible too. Who knows what the future holds.
Oh yeah. It’s too late for me to find it for you but I recall a laser fired through some gas in some state either traveled time or faster than light and the flipping of the switch.
In a madcap version of alternate worlds, Detroit Lions will win it all...
That’s funny.
They never mastered it, there were too many people who said it was a ridiculous theory......
Mine was a reference to a line in the Marx Brothers movie "The Coconuts."
Groucho: "Now here is a little peninsula and here is a viaduct leading over to the mainland."
Chico: "Why a duck?"
Oops, meant the "red shift", which I understand is a proven scientific measurement for mass moving away from our known position. Can't even keep straight the few physics I think I know. Can't even remember my Junior High algebra. Better go before I look even more stupid...haha.
Still one of my top 5 books of all time. I have read it 4 times now, and will watch the movie if it is on. It is not great but not the worst movie I have ever seen.
The movie was garbage, but the novel was good (though the reason for creating the "time travel" setup was pretty lame).
Probably his scariest novel, and an extremely underappreciated one at that, was "Prey." I read that one in practically one sitting.
What's really crazy is, whichever direction our telescopes peer out 14 or so billion light years into, they are imaging the point in time when the entire universe was millions of times smaller than the head of pin (the Big Bang singularity).
And just to clarify, ONE light year, the *distance* light travels in a year at its basically fixed speed of 186,000 miles per second, works out to just over 5.9 TRILLION miles.
So that's 5.9 trillion (miles) times 14 billion, in EVERY direction, we are "seeing" an almost infinitely tiny speck of space! The beginning of the universe.
