Apple’s new MacBook Pro is the first MacBook Consumer Reports won’t recommend
Extreme Tech ^ | 12/23/2016 | Joel Hruska

Apple’s new MacBook Pro isn’t having an easy time in the market. It’s been panned for its reliance on dongles, criticized for using older Intel chips, and a significant number of users have reported decidedly substandard battery life when using the system. Apple has responded to these complaints by cutting dongle prices and removing the “Time Remaining” indicator on the laptop’s battery, neither of which constitutes an actual solution. Now, Consumer Reports has refused to recommend the MacBook Pro for the first time ever. The reason? Battery life.

You are like that gay couple that harassed Ivanka and her husband on Jet Blue. Just can’t let other people enjoy their threads about their devices, having to piss on other people minding their own business. Why don’t you go piss on your own boyfriend and leave us alone? You won’t because you truly are a loser in life. We don’t go into other computer threads where we don’t have any need, and raise tantrums. You are truly mental. Get off this thread unless you have technical facts to share.

Apple pretends it invented everything

Like the iPod, never mind the fact that they bought it

Or Airport, never mind the fact that they bought it

Or iPhoto, never mind the fact that they bought it (or stole it) I don’t remember anymore

Apple innovation is pretty much just buying what is already out there or ripping it off of someone else like Samsung, Microsoft, BlackBerry or Cisco and calling it their own

That is Apple’s innovations......

So excuse me, I’m following you? Everywhere? You truly are demented. I came to an Apple thread because I own Apple gear, am on an Apple Ping list, and you think I’m following you! Bwa-ha-ha!!! Better start looking in your rear view mirror when driving, with that mentality. You are old enough to drive?

A dongle is a hardware peripheral with the only intent being to allow operation of software on said machine. Its goal is to prevent software piracy. i.e. the software won’t run if it can’t find the hardware dongle on the port somewhere.

That was the original definition. The early ones connected to serial ports, not USB.

But, today, 99.9+% of the dongles in the wild exist to provide some sort of connectivity. E.g., to communicate with a wireless mouse or keyboard. Or to provide WiFi or Bluetooth to a computer not otherwise equipped. Or, in the case of the Mac USB-C ports, to adapt to other high-speed connectors, until peripherals come out that plug into USB-C directly.

Thanks for posting. I like my Mac Book Pro and my two IPhones, and quite frankly, don’t give a rat’s rear end what anyone thinks about it.

you are the one that needs to get lost

go make yourself useful someplace else

You are the one of the only useless posters in Apple threads. You contribute NOTHING of value, ever. Roadcat has always provided useful information, unlike you.

Actually, if you look at this thread, you are the one that responded rudely to me

And you commented that I was following you

How is that so? I said nothing to you, but you come on here and right out attack me.

sorry libtard, you can’t throw mud and run away and pretend the other guy started it

Not a troll Jose. This is not an Apple forum paid for by advertisements free to the public. Certain peoples only contribution here is selected apple publicity releases. In fact Apple is the only company I’ve seen who does their advertising in this way on the forum through members.

Same here, late 2012 product. Works perfect. Yet anything designed and manufactured by man is fallible. Mac or PC products.

Merry Christmas ....

Let's take a look at your lies and show how mentally unbalanced you are.

I commented that you are so full of BS. Is that rude, maybe in your eyes. But the assertion is true because you claimed "Apple gear has always been 3 year old technology packaged in a shiny case at 3x markup", which is a flat-out lie and BS.

Your next two sentences is a lie where you say "And you commented that I was following you", because you indeed said in post#43 "If anything you are following me everywhere, sick, pathetic, perverted old loser", and I replied in post#44 that I "am on an Apple Ping list, and you think I’m following you!". I never commented otherwise.

Finally, you are the one slinging mud and falsehoods coming onto Apple threads and then feigning innocence when others call you out on it. You are like those homos who caused a disruption on the JetBlue flight because they didn't like Ivanka Trump being a passenger. She did nothing to the homos, but they caused a stink (and got thrown off the flight). You are just like those troublemakers. You provide no intellectual facts or know-how to these Apple threads. All you know how to do is to pleasure yourself while tossing inane childish comments at seasoned technical pros. Get a life, or get some brains. Come back when you have some technical facts to share that are related to Apple threads.

How childish of arl295. “You might want to get one someday”. I mean, who talks like that, but a child. “I know you are, but what am I?” is the type of language you hear from Pee-Wee Herman shows. Swordmaker is one of the smartest technical advisors on this forum, and is well-versed in technical facts and experienced with electronic gear.

Maybe arl295 can drop by a cemetery in Egg Harbor (I’ve been there often, people in Jersey are a weird lot) and scout for a brain there. They have fresh burials, and anything he digs up would be an improvement to arl295’s thinking processes.

I just might go out and get another Apple product bro. The way it started for me was, I had a HP Pavilion PC. Nothing against them, but my wife went out and bought a Mac Book Pro. I had nothing against them either, except I thought they were too expensive.
I was pretty upset with her for buying one, but she just said, take the Mac, and play with it for a few days, and see how you like it. I did, and a few days later, I went out and got one too. The rest is history, as they say. 😀😆😄

Wives are very influential! Glad you like the laptop! People need to use products they are happy with, and makes them productive.

An aside, there is really no need for the elementary school like behavior populating the various Apple related threads. They have fanboys, ardent users, and people who dislike Apple products. While the threads can have disagreement and that’s one of the purposes, the silly pettiness distracts from the content.

Oh by the way, Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

At times, I don't understand the fighting about products. They're all tools, you use what works for you. That being said, I also own an HP Pavilion PC, an M7050e. It has the docking bay for removable hard drives, and the machine has served me pretty well. Except that two of the removable drive cartridges have failed on me over the years, faulty interface boards. But the machine is fine otherwise. I keep several PCs around for Windows work as needed. I primarily use Apple machines, but as I say they're all tools and you use what you need.

Well put, both of you. We use what we like best. If people want to use a PC, more power to them. If others like Macs, more power to them too. Some of the behavior I see, really is childish.

Maligayang Pasko (Merry Christmas in the local language.) It's already 7 AM on Monday where I am.

Later bro.
