Well, it appears no Electors are defecting from the Republican side, so Monday should be uneventful.

However, I have learned not to underestimate the divorce-from-reality, the utter INSANITY of the Loony Left. Seeing how the liberals have thrown EVERYTHING against the wall this election:

• She lost because of "fake news"!
• Jill Stein will recount Hillary into office!
• The Russians hacked the election, so we need a new one!
• The Electors won't vote for Trump on Monday!
• The FBI threw the election for Trump!

  I hereby formally predict the next one:
  
  

• Congress does not have to approve the Elector's selection! Stall the approval at Congress to prevent Trump from being President! Tie up the House so they cannot approve the Elector's selection!

After Congress is done they will petition the Supreme Court on the grounds that the Constitution was hacked by British King and his Czarist allies and is unconstitutional!

Possibly, but more likely, a SCOTUS court case that says, "Hillary won the popular vote! Make her President instead!"

And just like the loony closet liberal elector from Texas, Suckfan, or whatever his name is, the left will find one RINO Republican member of congress from some left wing state who will agree to go along with it. Then that person will be given primetime interviews on every news network and will become the liberal superstar of the week. We will be treated to a constant barrage of breathless stories about how some reporter’s, cousins best friends roommate heard that 100 Republican members of congress are going to vote for Hillary. (of course when the day rolls around, Trump’s electoral victory will be easily confirmed in the House in an uneventful proceeding).

What is the mechanism for releasing the electoral vote numbers? Do the votes get announced immediately or not until the House formally counts them? I never paid much attention to this before.

Each state vote can be objected to by a house and senate member together. The house and senate then spend max of two hours deciding if that state can be counted. It is somewhat surprising a republican president is ever elected with a dem controlled congress in the past.
