This is how liberals operate, clearly. We’re seeing it here too, with the variety of ways Obama and Hillary are trying to overturn the election. They start out saying “I represent the will of the people,” when they are confident that the people are on their side. But if it turns out the people aren’t, well... in that case, they’ll do what they think is best for you.

I am glad he has the courage of his convictions.
I hope the next PM can simply cancel the treaty.

Governments need to start fearing the people, not the other way around. The 60% need to show up at his door and make it clear that he will not survive his decision.

After Brexit and the other events of the past year, The global elitists are begin to realize that "democracy" has turned on them, so now they are taking off the masks and proving what many suspected all along, that the people really have no say, democracy is just convenient illusion, and that the Kings and Emperors of days gone by never went away, they were just replaced by globalists and technocrats.
The Globalists have learned their lesson though, I'm betting you are going to see less and less public referendums and "free and fair" elections allowed in the future on the grounds that the average citizen is to easily influenced by "fake news" or doesn't have the mental capacity to understand what is best for them.

I lived in Holland for 42 months before moving to a Flemish community in Belgium when the EU came into being. From the moment the EU took over, even the "national politicians" of each country have done the EU's bidding. So sad a situation. The English are having the same problems. The USA has three embassies in Brussels, one to the EU, one to Belgium and one to NATO. My experience there was with DoD but my final eight years in government was with Dept of State. The multiple layers of political representation in each nation has resulted in citizens being subjected to Rule-without-Representation. The EU was devised to strip each nation's citizens of their vote - but it has led to situations as this where even a politician beholden to the state no longer carries out their duties, but slips into the rule of the EU.
The only way out of this situation is to remove the Royal families in Europe from living on public assistance. In Holland, Belgium, England and elsewhere (except Russia), these people still run the countries through their ceremonial positions. It is as if the people are mere surf's of a vassal state at this point.
