Brooke Hughes, 18, from Scranton, and Chaniya Morrison-Toomey, 19, from Dunmore, died in the crash, which happened just after midnight Tuesday near Mount Pocono, according to KTLA sister station WNEP in Scranton.
The pair died after their car was hit from behind by a big rig.
The video, which has been taken down from Facebook, shows Hughes driving along Interstate 380 while holding the cellphone, according to the Times-Tribune newspaper in Scranton.
Morrison-Toomey asks, "Are you going live?"
But before Hughes can respond, lights suddenly fill the interior of the car and there's the sound of screeching tires. Then the video goes black.

Slow Joe grew up in Scranton!
Guess again.
Speed limit is 70 on I380
They should have gotten a Tow, not drive slow, not on some interstate up in the mountains in the middle of the night, that is a death sentence.
Had an old bat pass me on the highway tonight. As she came by I thought she was going to sideswipe me. Then she got in front of me and slowed down. She was jerking around from one side of the lane to the other for about five miles. Finally I passed her and she wasn’t drunk. She was pecking at something in her lap and looking at it instead of the road. This woman had to be at least 70. We are doomed.
Darwin avait raison
Society may have dodged a couple future bullets here.
I know that stretch of I-380, When we lived in Pt Jervis we would drive on the northern part of it into Scranton to get on I-81 to get to the Dutch Country. It does get treacherous in bad weather, let alone messing with a damn cell phone. My son-in law’s sister and nephews live near Dunmore. Sad.

Another article said the tail lights probably weren’t working either.

...
True, but in this case the cell phone may have little or nothing to do with the crash.
Saw a young gal tie up I 5 for like 4 hours 25 years ago cuz she was putting on her pantyhose on the highway and tangled em up in the pedals.
Ya just cant legislate away stupid
Do not enter 75mph traffic at 25mph
That is a simple solution
Which ones?
