CHICORA, Pa. (AP) -- Police say a Pennsylvania man told them he fatally shot his wife after first trying to kill himself and then hearing her taunting him and encouraging him to shoot himself. Thirty-year-old Joshua Crawford was jailed Monday in Butler County on charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault. Police say Crawford and 30-year-old Sarah Crawford were arguing at their Donegal Township home Sunday night when he decided to take his own life. Police say Joshua Crawford told them the gun wouldn't fire and his wife continued to call him names and urge him to shoot himself, so he turned the gun on her and fired.

This is a tough one. I’m not sure what the ruling should be here.
I am pretty sure there is an Irish ballad here somewhere.
Well, that didn’t go well.
Good rule of thumb don’t mock the mentally disturbed man with a gun.
Ping.
Clearly he’s guilty.
We all know men never listen to their wives!
Ok she taunted him. Who is gonna believe him?
There’s a country song here just aching to get out.
Ouch!
Doesn’t sound like it worked out too well for her.
Of course, not looking too good for him, either.
Reminds me of an old (Henny Youngman?) joke.
LOL
Clear case of self defense.
99 problems and she ain’t one. Anymore.
Sarah Crawford's name has been posthumously changed to Karma Crawford, and she was denied burial in the Church Cemetery because her death was "obviously suicide".
Horrible.
I’d call it a justifiable homicide myself, and a decent jury likely would, too. But, I doubt the law reads in a favorable manner so it would be jury nullification.
I got a gun for my wife, and she committed suicide?
If it was him he talked about his 20th wedding anniversary. He said that if he’d taken her out that day, they’d have given him 20 years.
Then he said, “OTOH, I’d be getting out about now....”
Can’t remember if it was HY or not.
