Conflict? How about Lautenberg and ADT?
11/27/16 | Weeder

When the cadaver Frank Lautenberg was resurrected to fill in for the disgraced Torricelli in the New Jersey Senate race years ago (even though it was too late to substitute someone; they're Democrats. Who cares?), I don't remember any ruckus being raised about conflict of interest. If I recall correctly, Lautenberg was the founder and owner of ADT, the largest payroll service company in the nation. Had he divested himself before becoming a member of Congress? Were the howler monkeys in the press all agitated by this businessman having a conflict? Maybe my fellow Freepers know the details. I stand to be informed by your input. Thank you.

Are you thinking of ADP? ADT is the Security company.

No, this ADT is a payroll contractor. The State of Maryland uses it.

Yes, it’s ADP — it stands for Automatic Data Processing.

Automatic Data Processing is the Lautenberg company. I’m pretty sure he was long retired when he illegally ran for the Senate after Torricelli disgraced himself and the New Jersey DNC Court ruled that the democrats have to have a candidate on the ballot, so screw the actual laws that controlled.

I am so glad I moved out of that corrupt Hell hole.

Now maybe at one time it was ADT, but y'all don't go making any foolish bets here about ADT and Lautenberg.

"It was the success of that company — now Automatic Data Processing, Inc., or ADP — that made Lautenberg the fortune recently estimated at between $55 million and $116 million. That money is what made him a player in politics to begin with as a donor and as a self-financed candidate."

Someone argued against it, but the judge decided in favor of the Democrats.

I worked for ADT for 26 1/2 years, it’s not a payroll company.

It’s security.

What I’m wondering is whether he had sold or divested before he entered politics, or did he just use that special dispensation afforded to liberals to ignore such trivia?

I don’t know which he might have done. It doesn’t matter because any given Democrat becomes a millionaire, of he/she is already a millionaire, makes many more millions while in the Senate.

The POTUS is exempt from any conflict of interest. Trump could actually run his business while governing, however he plans on giving letting his children run it instead.
