MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- President-elect Donald Trump pressed forward Friday with two more administration picks, as failed Green Party candidate Jill Stein took new steps to force recounts across key Midwestern battlegrounds that could complicate Trump's push for national unity.

Stein, who earned little more than 1 percent of the national vote, formally requested a Wisconsin recount Friday afternoon, vowing to do the same in the coming days in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Wisconsin officials confirmed Friday evening they would move forward with the first presidential recount in state history. There is no evidence of election tampering in the states where Trump scored razor-thin victories, but Green Party spokesman George Martin insisted "the American public needs to have it investigated to make sure our votes count."

"We're doing this to ensure the integrity of our system," he said.

Trump's team ignored questions about the looming recounts. Set to assume the presidency in 55 days, he was focused instead on the daunting task of building an administration from scratch.

Gathered with family at his Mar-a-Lago Palm Beach estate for the holiday weekend, the incoming president made two senior-level staff appointments and scheduled meetings with several more prospective administration officials.

He tapped Fox News analyst Kathleen Troia "KT" McFarland to serve as deputy national security adviser and campaign attorney Donald McGahn as White House counsel. In a statement, Trump cited McFarland's "tremendous experience and innate talent" and said McGhan "has a brilliant legal mind, excellent character and a deep understanding of constitutional law."

Having faced criticism about the inexperience of his initial picks, Trump finds in McFarland someone who previously worked under three presidents, although none since Ronald Reagan. McGhan, a veteran Republican election lawyer, served as Trump's attorney during the campaign.

If it is a DEM judge then she will get a hand recount.

Not sure how the judge is selected. TRump will Win Wisconsin in a recount but I still believe the strategy is to creat discord and keep the electors from being certified through normal procedures.

IF the legislature’s select them then that will be more media ammunition for the left. Totally legit but just allows media to raise questions is the low information kind.

“How about a recount in California to make sure ONLY citizens’ votes are counted and watch Hildabeast lose the popular vote.”

I think this should definitely happen. If money were no issue, I would demand all voting in cities be recounted and investigated. The left is reprehensible and will stop at nothing to try to retain their pathetic stature. If this is how they are going to act, I would put forth absolutely no olive branches, and would make it a focus of the next four years to go after every single one of their connections to power. They are worse than the Bolsheviks.

I thought the concern was with the electronic voting machine totals, as these were in rural counties.

They’ll start a civil war if they do that.

Not going to happen. Never has, never will. Recounts never “produce” more than a few hundred ballots one way or another.

Even the Obama White House told them to drop this crap and focus on winning the LA Senate Race.

Then you can look at FL 2000, where tons of recounts never produced more votes. The WA recount was beyond razor thin. WI isn’t.

All the hysterics here on FR might want to deal with reality, as should the Dems. There will be no changing of any state, period.

How can you submit missing ballots almost three weeks after the election?

Excellent point. The previous elections discussed involved only a few hundred votes not 10,000 or more.

So this why the beast has been “spontaneously “ showing up in a book store, hiking trail and grocery to pose as a typical person. She’s trying to appear removed from the recount and also trying to pretend she is a normal person.

She’s a calculating, conniving evil b!tch.

If they are so concerned about the accuracy of the vote, why didn't the Green Party also challenge New Hampshire, where the winning margin was less than 3,000 votes?

Oh, that's right. Clinton was called the winner of that state.

An honest media would point out the hypocrisy. But, we don't have one.

.
They cheated before the elections, its just that 30 million illegal votes were not enough this time to throw the election.

Easy. They were put into the boxes two weeks ago. Oops, we made a mistake in counting the first time!

Liberals, Socialists, Marxists, etc. lie, cheat, steal, murder, to get their way.

Trump should be all over this with a team of lawyers and observers in every location.

Period. He fights or he's just another wimp.
