A new report suggests a “sophisticated” Russian propaganda campaign helped flood social media with fake news stories leading up to the presidential election.

The Washington Post, citing a yet-to-be published report from independent researchers, said the goal was to punish Hillary Clinton, help Donald Trump, and undermine faith in American democracy.

The report comes from a nonpartisan group of researchers called PropOrNot. The group describes itself as “concerned American citizens” with expertise in computer science, national security and public policy. The researchers say they traced the origins of posts and mapped the connections among accounts that delivered similar messages. …

A “new” set of “fact checkers”?

Ask them who won the 2000 election.
Ask them who won the 2004 election.
Ask them who was behind the 9-11 attacks.
Ask them why the Bush National guard memos were scandalous.

Some basic questions to see how truf-ful they really are.

The election is over - yet the MSM and Dems are still pushing the “Russian subversion” narrative. I thought it would have stopped when the election ended, as it was a convenient slogan for Clinton’s wikileaks problems - but they continue to push it.

I wonder why.

From PropOrNot web site...

“PropOrNot is an independent team of concerned American citizens with a wide range of backgrounds and expertise, including professional experience in computer science, statistics, public policy, and national security affairs. We are currently volunteering time and skills to identify propaganda - particularly Russian propaganda - targeting a U.S. audience. We collect public-record information connecting propaganda outlets to each other and their coordinators abroad, analyze what we find, act as a central repository and point of reference for related information, and organize efforts to oppose it.”

No where in their web site is any mention of who runs this site and the people that work there , their political affiliation, or their funding.

Until proven otherwise, I say it’s another Soros FakeNews site.

My humorous take on all this was RT getting miffed that the WP misidentified it as Sputnik, as if there’s a difference.

a yet-to-be published report

I've seen that one before. They have nothing - just a laundry list of accusations; the AP is now deep into Truther territory with their reporting.

Any group that identifies itself as nonpartisan is lying and left-wing.

Yes we should believe an anonomous group of swamp crawlers, over identifiable sources of information.

The quickest way to get people to stop reading RT is to create credible new organs in the U.S. But we know all of them [CNN, Slimes, ComPost] lie all the time.
