Anybody have any travel advisories, free advice, etc, for people traveling to Philadelphia on business?

(And still wanting to go get a cheesesteak at Jim's, and perhaps dinner at DeAngelo's?)

You’ll love it too many good things to list. Lunch at Butcher & Singer. Or Reading Terminal Market. Or a million places. Visit the art museum and the Water Works behind it. Tour City Hall. Independence Hall.

Put you wallet in your front pocket. If you hear crunching as you walk down the street, don’t look down. Naked screaming guys on the street have the right of way.

Use an old Clinton/Kaine campaign poster to create an undercover sign to pin to your shirt if deep in protester territory.
Or just raise your fist in the air, march on to your destination, and laugh your butt off the whole time. LOL.

Stay out of North and West Philly.

Downtown is OK.

The NE is OK.

The South is Ok.

Probably no more dangerous than usual - mostly snowflakes from the local colleges it appears - how harmful can they be?....

Stay out.

Philly’s a crap hole at the best of times, and these are NOT the best of times.

As WC Fields once said...”I spent a *week* in Philadelphia one night”.

They’ve had some anti-Trump demonstrations there this week, but so far they haven’t had the violence like they have had in other cities.

Find a Fink’s Hoagies shop. Their sandwiches and homemade pickles are delicious and the price is right.

i work at 19th and market and have had no issues. i live and bike 2.5 miles north east. no issues but i do not hang out downtown. Downtown is a very residential area. the old office buildings and new construction are apartment/condo/mixed use. my opinion is that the mobs are trying to mess with car traffic. if you walk you can usually avoid most mobs. Chances are the bussed in mobs don’t know where Jim’s or DAngelos is. And i would feel msotly safe in south philly. i used to live a block from jim’s but moved out as it was getting rowdy with feral teens. That was 1983. very different now.
