I'm not sure he's right about NPR. I only listen to NPR's music programming, which is paid for by donations from liberals who listen to the other crap. So, it's like free stuff!
My only surprise is that it took this long for The Mic to fail, even in the Peoples Republik of Madistan.
NPR is pretty far out on the left
And I bet these weasels are fully aware of it.
NPR is designed to drive people into a Trance state of waking sleep, conservative talk radio provokes thought disagreement even with the listeners, and RESPECT.
That is why liberal NPR like radio fails when it is in the commercial arena
Conservative talk radio is one of the biggest counterweights to the mainstream media Establishment, which is why they hate it.
I’ve been to NPR in L.A./CULVER CITY 3 times my life. Never, ever say you are conservative there. It’s more far left than being on Bill Maher’s HBO studio, which I’ve also been in. Both places should be assigned mental hospitals.
Liberal talk shows are competing against the main media for listeners. Conservatives have minimal choices so coalesce around Conservative
talk.
I’m retired, but when I was working the Rush Limbaugh progam provided a backdrop that got me thinking even while I was doing my technical tasks. It didn’t interrupt, it enhanced the pace of work, and the workday went faster, too.
NPR is cocaine for the mind; it welcomes the listener into a perfect liberal world where there are no guns, just unicorns & rainbows.
Liberalism fails every time it is tried and cannot compete in the marketplace of ideas.
Years (& years & years) ago the place I worked always had NPR on. It was obviously ‘left’ back then, but the talkers were very soft, almost somnolent. I think it allows liberals minds to simply go to sleep & dream their utopian dreams. That’s why they like it over something that might be more strident.
I catch her podcasts some weekends working outside.
Having Rush on way back when helped me a little better mentally as well.
NPR is a large part of the reason commercial left-wing radio stations don’t survive. NPR provides a high quality product which garners them a large percentage of the left-wing listenership - all without having to worry about anything so crass as making a profit. It really is unfair competition to the commercial leftie stations and that really, really breaks my heart /* snicker */
The liberal diatribe never can stand up to unemotional facts and common sense. And that is what Conservative Radio delivers, a well thought out plan or logical and rational thought.
Liberal radio can only play on emotions and use lies and deceit. It’s hard to hold the attention of the public is all you have are lies and emotional tantrums.
Libs can’t compete on talk radio because there are no pictures. Seriously. Listening takes a lot more energy and focus than staring at a bright flashing screen.
Wait, Wait Don't Tell me had left that perfect liberal world and went into one where Trump was pounding on the door eager to shut them down... and once again my electrolytes were thrown out of whack from all of their delicious tears of unfathomable sadness.
Nah, they must have been getting subsidies from someplace. Or all the Madison head shops advertised.
I tried to listen to "Air America" a few times. Bunch of nasty, graying adolescents, in my limited listening experience.
Randi Rhoades? She was pretty obnoxiously out of her element.
Was it Al Franken that "covered" Reagan's funeral? A-hole to the extreme (Had to at least try to listen. Limbaugh liked hearing himself talking over the JIP coverage.)
Why do liberals need radio, when all of the media is on their side.
It’s like Rush used to say, “I AM Equal Time.”
This is like the AirAmerica train wreck - the entire MSM touted it as the left’s savior to conservative radio - and touted its “success” until the day it had to close its doors.
