So we now here the calls to remove Ryan as the speaker of the house. Is it a good or bad idea.
Reason for removal: Can't be trusted
Reason for staying: Removal will involve changes in leadership and delays in Trumps agenda, Wisconsin went for Trump and Ryan did give some support in final days of campaign.
Risk assessment: Trust is not needed initially as long as Ryan follows through with Trumps agenda, potential for back stabbing increases with time.
Leadership change will delay Trumpa agenda causing potential risk of opposition as honeymoon period passes.
New leadership may be even worse.
Conclusion: Leadership change should be shelved for the year as long as Ryan commits to supporting Trumps 100 day agenda.
Emotions need to be checked at the door.
A trillion dollar increase will be needed to meet *current* budget needs. And then there’s the increased spending Trump wants.
It just can’t be done, in time, with cuts alone.
I assume we’ll see some cuts in the final budget in March or April. But more will be needed. The next budget will be a terrible battle, politicians that cut spending don’t usually get re-elected.
You are thinking of something else. The visit change the weekend before the election was because someone foolishly scheduled it at the same time as the Packer game.
Agreed.
But you see, the big problem/danger here is we live in a world where the Fed has just demonstrated it creates trillions of dollars from nothingness with a few keypresses. They have greatly undermined money itself as a concept.
So now, after TARP didn’t really get GDP growth, we’re supposed to do the same thing and because a different name is on it we should expect it to “work” . . . where work is defined as GDP 3+%.
Govt spending is part of the GDP equation (look it up). If you spend enough you can get GDP growth. But is that really a GOP perspective? Is it in any way a conservative GOP perspective?
No. This stimulus isn’t going to happen. Period. No one will buy the bonds — including the Fed.
He was never for Trump and his "I'm not on board yet" after Trump won the primary showed his hand as a Washington insider.
Weather he loved Trump or not, Republicans and especially the Republican speaker of the house should back the Republicans chosen nominee.
Lyin Ryan need to go.
Must have been the other one at an earlier date I was remembering.
You are thinking about a different rally a few weeks earlier. This was a non-Trump thing at a county fairground near Janesville. The Trump organized one the weekend before the election was cancelled because it was scheduled at the same time as the Packer game.
Yes. It wasn’t a Trump rally but a gathering of Republicans from that part of the state. Ryan did an invite to Trump, then a disinvite after the pussy tape.
Government spending ‘can’ increase the real GDP but ONLY if it’s spent on productive activity.
It usually fails though because the government cannot predict well what’s productive (that’s inherent), and because it doesn’t even intend it’s spending for production- but for welfare!
Why welfare spending isn’t counted as consumption is beyond me.
Bond yields have already gone up since Trump won, in expectation of increased spending.
Trump is certainly going to have a hard time forcing discipline on congress- every president does. This first budget will soon show how he’s doing.
I don’t know. He and and some of his friends are really kissing Trump ass. After so much butt kissing I think he’s committed.
I wouldn’t shed a tear though if he was canned.
I don’t know what you want me to say.
If the GOP wants to continue to elect people who are not leaders to positions of leadership, then I guess that’s what they will do.
Ryan led the GOP nowhere. They accomplished nothing. they weren’t even smart enough to realize that Trump was the way to victory. They are all idiots.
Ryan's wife is a stay-at-home mom who lives in Janesville, WI.
Did she leak the Trump video before or after volunteering at the elementary school book drive?
Definitely.
Dump him. He is a zero integrity backstabber.
...Paul Ryan is married to Janna Little a liberal, left wing progressive, anti-Constitutional, big government George Soros supporter who voted for Barack Hussein Obama twice...
...Janna comes from a Democratic family. Her cousin, Dan Boren, was a Democratic Representative for Oklahoma from 2005 to 2013. Dans father, David Boren, was the 21st governor of Oklahoma from 1975 to 1979. Dans grandfather, Lyle Boren, was a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1937 to 1947...
The only Republican Janna has ever voted for other than her husband is Mitt Romney!
The above post though says Janna did NOT support the Romney-Ryan ticket: kind of doubtful, but maybe not. Partisanship counts!
Another priceless post from you. Thanks!
But, how would anyone possibly know how Janna votes?
Aha, I was wrong. I will have to look for the actual connection (there is one). Thanks for the correction, I don’t like being wrong.
