The UN in U.N.C.L.E. stood for “United Nations”. (The United Nations Command for Law and Enforcement). No, it was United Network Command for Law Enforcement. Just a guess on my part, I suspect it was originally going to be United Nations and someone figured out it would alienate a lot of people.
