Need Computer Help
November 7, 2016 | vanity

Please, need help with Windows 7 Favorites. The Favorites folders are there but all are empty of their contents. Ran CCleaner, Malwarebytes and Avira a couple days ago and manually deleted the address drop down. Don't know of anything else that could have messed it up. Just did a restore at an earlier date but the file contents are still missing. I made two new files just now but they won't accept contents.

After making two new files, it won't accept new contents so thinking that's where the problem is. Whatever it might be.

Thanks.

Try F5 to refresh.

Close and reopen File Manager.

CCleaner has a setting to clear your favorites. Did you have that checked? It’s possible you deleted your favorites.

I’ve done that once before, but I had a backup.

Are you SURE you’re not logged in as another user than your normal self? I assume you checked but similar questions have been answered with that .... so .... log out and back in if you haven’t already .... good luck!

— should have used PC-Matic!
Now with “Favorite Folder Protection”.

Look in your Trash folder; if it’s there, right-click to ‘restore’.

I’m the only one.

All the many Favorites files are showing but each one is empty. Such as my Political file is there but when I click on it, it’s empty. The are no links to anything. No FR saves. No nothing.

As with most Windoze problems, the proper solution is to switch to Linux.

Somebody here tipped me off to CCleaner.

Keeps things running fast plus keeps the registry in order.

Love it.

Restore from your backup drive? (Providing you do perform backups..) You should be able to go back far enough to find your files prior to deletion.

My 2 Sense...

My wife deletes the wrong stuff frequently.
Luckily Windows has the System Restore utility that almost always fixes it.
