Dear Twitter, he posted. What is the song you most detest and despise? Thank you.
Within 48 hours, the bemused Brit, who had only around 1,000 Twitter followers, had received several thousand nominations from all over the world, and Lennons ballad was a repeat offender.
I think its the whole idea of talking about poverty and misery, while John was actually hanging around in his palatial New York townhouse, Carter tells The Post. Its the duplicity of the whole thing.

Band on the Run
If only he’s imagined a bullet-proof vest.
Mockingbird - James Taylor/Carly Simon
Muskrat Love - Captain & Teneal
Saturday Night - Bay City Rollers
The night Chicago Died - Paper Lace
imagine! Yes.
Imagine, a hideous song, trying to make atheism sound pretty and inviting. Reprehensible.
Baby I’m a Want You
It is up there, but I can think of worse:
Billy don’t be a hero
Seasons in the Sun
Wildfire
If you don’t know these, consider yourself lucky!

Lest we forget the damage done to the moral fabric of our nation by Satan's minstrels, here are the lyrics to "Imagine" by John Lennon. A song still prominently played at most major venues and poignant to all but those who actually understand its horrifying "fundamentally transformed" implications...
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You, you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will live as one
I luvs my ‘Merican Pie, so don’t you be hatin’ on it!
I hate how liberals will play that stupid song (Imagine) at funerals or other solemn occasions as if it’s a secular hymn.
What about Yoko’s “ John John John?”
One Tin Soldier
Most badly copied maybe, but the original is a masterpiece.
FWIW, I rarely listen to lyrics.
There are a hell of a lot worse songs than that that have come and gone over the years. That was actually pretty good, IMO, as was damn near was everything back then, at least when compared to the absolute garbage that has come out since that approximate time.
Yep, that one is pretty bad, too.
No yoko song? She should have been shot for any of them.
John Travolta - “Gonna let her in my life”. That actually made it on to the charts. No, really. And it was as bad as you are thinking.
It was designed that way in order to drum the Marxist ideals into young people's minds.
“FEELINGS, WO-O-O-E FEELINGS...”
I originally loved Baker Street - in 1978.
By its millionth radio playing in 1979, I was ready to hunt the band down with a tank.
