President Olivia Marsdin (Lynda Carter) will try to convince Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) to support her alien amnesty act in Season 2, episode 3 of “Supergirl.”
In a sneak peek for the upcoming episode, titled “Welcome to Earth,” President Marsdin tells Hank that it is high time for her alien amnesty act to be enacted into law — an idea that the director of the D.E.O. doesn’t really approve.
“I’m surprised now that your true identity is known to the world, you don’t live openly as your Martian self,” the President tells Hank in the three-minute clip.
“I find looking human makes people feel more comfortable,” Hank explains.
“Hopefully, my alien amnesty act will change that for you and everyone else from beyond the stars that have made Earth their home,” the president says. “I know the D.E.O.’s mission is to hunt renegade aliens, but that mission is going to have to adapt. You disagree director?”
Hank admits to the President that he doesn’t think that enacting her alien amnesty act into law is a good idea. “There are aliens out there, killers who would not understand the concept of the very right you are offering them, evil creatures who could take advantage of your good will,” the Martian refugee tells the President.
“I imagine the very same thing once said about you J’onn J’onzz,” the president tells Martian Manhunter. “But someone gave you the benefit of the doubt. Isn’t it time we pay that forward? I can’t think of any better time than the present to extend our hand and friendship.” Watch the full sneak peek at the bottom of the article.

Personally, the ONLY aliens for whom I would support “amnesty” would be aliens who can fly and have X-ray vision.
Other than that ...... NOPE!
Well, look who’s flying in! It looks like Braniac and Mr. Mxyzptlk!
I do not miss TV at all.
Stupid TV show, Does anyone give a flying f**k?
I started watching this. It got really lame really quick. Too bad the creators can’t be more original and have to piggy back on someone else’s Idea. But this after all about turning Superman into a Girl.
I was going to watch it until I learned that Jimmy Olsen was Black. Yeah that is as likely as OJ being agent Nordberg.
I thought Supergirl was cancelled last year.
I watched the first couple of episodes until they unveiled a black Jimmy Olsen, and had SG mooning over him, haven’t been back since.
I grew up on Superman comics, and TV, and I’m a purist to the original aspects of the story.
Now, every TV show and every movie changes everything around from the original. The action effects get better, but the storylines suck.
BUILD the FORCE FIELD!!!
To be fair supergirl’s been around since the 1950s as a DC character in the comics. My big drawback has been the modification of other characters such as Jimmy Olsen and Snapper Carr.
After frist having stopped by planet Bizzaro.
I hate the pay it forward phrase.
Supergirl was to get girls interested in comics.
They moved it to the CW, where (for the most part) they do superhero shows right.
Hear hear! Good show old man. I say, she was quite a bit of the old alright, wot?
That’s why I’m interested in this story line.
The previews show both sides of the issue being discussed; now let’s see if the evenhandedness continues through the season or if most of the amnesty detractors are portrayed as a knuckle-dragging neanderthals.
