At 14,000 tons displacement that Type 005 is more in line with the new Zumwalt and is 50% heavier than the Arleigh Burke. 128 VLS cells is 50% more than the Arleigh Burke and Zumwalt. Over/under on % of components stolen from the West?

It looks no more stealthy than an Arleigh Burke.

Our weapon system acquisition process is terrible. Everything takes forever, costs too much, and usually doesn’t quite do what we had hoped it would do.
Any naval advancement will take time — but the Zumwalt has been in development for about 16 years. We have 1. We will have 3.
The original plan was to have 32 of them, plus an equivalent set of advanced cruisers. But politics gets in the way and we end up with a crippled force that probably could not win a war against a major power. That’s a reflection on leadership, not the people who go in harm’s way.
