Owners have mostly been quiet about the national anthem protests staged by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and others.
But Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay isnt one to keep his opinions to himself.
Irsay doesnt like the protests. In a story about declining television ratings, Irsay told USA Todays Jarrett Bell his feelings about Kaepernick and others.
I think its the wrong venue, Irsay told USA Today. It hasnt been a positive thing. What we all have to be aware of as players, owners, PR people, equipment managers, is when the lights go on we are entertainment. We are being paid to put on a show. There are other places to express yourself.

If he was any good he would still be with the team but he is an expensive bum. His 9 children and baby mommas will be hardest hit
Life Lesson #6: Don’t piss on the guy that signs your paycheck.
Golden Rule #1, he who has the gold makes the rules.
I hope he gets his point across to the schmucks at ESPN too.

Cromartie still playing:
What is he, about 50 years old?
Wife-beating, America-hating pouting millionaires just aren’t as entertaining as they once were.
Besides, my Saints suck this year (again).
You can count me out of your audience, Goodell.
A number of years ago, I watched an Inside the NFL about the Jets. I think he had four 3 year olds at the time...
Football and other sports have served as a haven away from the cacophony of political drivel. With misguided athletes destroying the haven with insults, and with ESPN getting into the political arena, some people have moved on to other ways to pass their time. Many will not be returning.
There are also the stupidity of pink shoes, gloves, and other distracting annoyances to take your mind away from the game.
Who wants to be punished and lectured?
He has to support about 20 kids.
You should have seen the interview when a reporter asked Cromartie to name his children and their ages. It was hilarious. He had two or three four year olds and several others under the age of eight. He could not put an age to the the names of his children.
So, basically, he's too tired to stand. :o)
The Colts have a GM and a head coach. A bad GM and a bad head coach, but they exist, nonetheless. They would have had far more to do with Cromartie’s release than Irsay, and Cromartie’s lack of performance likely had far more to do with it than any protest.
And so no one else has picked up Cromartie because he’s not a very good player, or because he’s a troublemaker, or maybe because he’s a not very good player who’s also a troublemaker?
Just love working 6 days. Relaxing with Sunday NFL being told by ignorant dolts you are trash, cheap, lazy, & racist.
Life has so much more to enjoy than Loser NFL.
NFL is propaganda. Choosing is simple. You have multiple alternatives like doing, learning, improving, sharing with others, ... 100 options.
A lot of people have lost sight of the fact that the NFL is first and foremost an entertainment medium. Goodell has allowed a group of punks to take the NFL’s stage for their “protest” and now the league is suffering.
I’ve been boycotting the NFL since the Colts left Baltimore.
I’ll betcha the troublemakers will now have even harder time in free agency. Owners coaches and GMs will take much harder looks from here on out
“Ill betcha the troublemakers will now have even harder time in free agency.”
yep.
