RIP Brock.
RIP Brock, was a subscriber to Car and Driver for many years and thoroughly enjoyed his work.
I don’t know if he was responsible but in early 1965 C&D did a comparison test between a Pontiac GTO and a Ferrari GTO.
The ‘test’ was faked by comparing performance data from other sources but great entertainment.
Enjoyed the heck out his editorials back in the day. I wondered why he drifted off the car scene. I saw him @ the restarting of the "Cannonball Run" in 1982 if my memory is correct @ the restaurant in Darien CT. His punch line to a joke "Are you ****ing Crazy" was hilarious.
He might have been one of us, soooo politically incorrect, hated the Cyclops brake light post 1987 on cars, and that is just for starters...
RIP Brock!
Fellow Hobart grad.
His son was also a Hobart grad and was a year ahead of me and we played on the volleyball team together.
Brock was a tough Som’bitch.
I loved reading his stories.
The best automotive journalist in the business.
He WAS Car & Driver. I was a subscriber for many years because of Mr. Yates.
RIP.
