Social services did nothing all those months?
I think family and friends could handle it better by forcefully taking the kids out of that environment.
But that’s illegal so we have social services.
Great job they’re doing.

First, this is tragic. It breaks my heart. It’s becoming much more common.
Second, this is why illegal immigration because this came from outside the country.
Third, this heroin may have come from the Middle East and I wonder how much of this spike in overdoses has with Arab importation of it and their own illegal immigration.

This is Darwin at work. Not nice, but effective.
Some may be Vets who brought their active-duty coping methods home with them.
No jobs, no money, total sense of desperation.
Our country is going to continue experiencing this for some time, before the wheels of justice get rolling. Drugs are stopped at the border .. and rehab/counseling centers are established with CHRISTIAN counseling (if requested).
There is so much that can be done .. it’s just a matter of will .. to make it happen.
It is to weaken and demoralize the American spirit.

But her forced smile is often found on those who are secretly grimacing through chronic pain, the type of folks who abuse scrips and the progress to the hard stuff.
The 7 year old will never forget this day, and it will likely shape her character as a teenager, as an adult.

There is no bad situation that cannot be made infinitely worse by involving the state.
There appears to be some unusually pure heroin going around. The unwary self-identify by ODing.
