That’s the story I heard as well. It fits the “stand down” order to a tee- explains why Barky and the Witch didn’t want anyone to protect Stevens.

1. Putin is a nationalist. This makes him a mortal enemy of Obama/Clinton globalists (and Romney globalists too).

2. Trump and Putin understand each other; hence, think they can deal with each other—both from strength.

3. It always comes up when they desperately need any kind of diversion or excuse for getting caught yet again in crimes. If they were putting on a legal defense, I think this is called: “Some other dude did it.”
