Do you think Trump leaked his own tax returns? If yes, why? If no, should he sue the NY Times?
If the -91 is omitted, it then looks normal.
Maybe Mary Mapes typewriter was used?
That is “Groucho Thompson”. MSNBC and Keith Overbite have been waiting forever on this bombshell.
“He better stay focused on who it is that he is running against.”
He’s running against the portrait that Hilary painted of him. Actually since she paints him as the complete opposite ofher, it doesn’t look half bad.
I don’t think he released them. Just opinions and speculation...
* He’d need to have admitted the prank hours ago. He’s let it go longer than needed to make the points you listed.
* If he did release them, they better be fake - since Marla’s name is on them - wouldn’t he be breaking the law he’s alleging NYT broke?
Donald Trump / "John Miller" Story -- LMAO
Kudos to Freeper RoosterRedux for running with that one.
It’s entirely possible - since he can now neutralize the whold “he didn’t pay taxes” argument by simply pointing to the fact that neither did the NYT, and that this is good because it is how the tax laws are supposed to work.
He could also talk about how government agencies givee extravagant perks and pay huge bonuses to workers who earn more than private sector peers do - all on the taxpayer’s dime. Why should businesses subsidize that crap?
what sources could leak returns? 1. IRS; 2. Auditors; 3. Trump
now, I’d be really really surprised if someone in Trump’s contingent did it, and even more surprised if an audit company did it because it would immediately and forever tank any clientele they have, which leaves an inside IRS job
However, to be noted, in 1996 Trump acquired 40 Wall Street.
No.
And he should sue the heck out of them just for the principle.
Tell them he looks forward to owning them.
Good optics.
People are sick of the media, people are sick of the division in the land caused by the left.
Trump runs against both.
He will win.
Trump is allowing the press to realize why he would not have paid taxes in subsequent years. He took a huge loss that could be carried over for many years. It explains everything for anyone with the brains to figure it out.
At first i thought so also. However, look at the insight we've gained from having the press give us the Wikileaks data. They come from illegal hacks. So, pressing this argument won't win us anything.
I don’t think Trump set this up. For one thing, they only are showing 1 page of his returns for 3 different states, probably because elsewhere in his returns it shows a lot of other taxes he paid that year and the person behind the release only wants to show the loss, not him also paying at the same time a huge amount of other taxes. I think an associate of the Clinton campaign got them from the IRS, they sorted through all the years they could get their hands on and the big NOL looked the worst (to them). Any one who runs a business understands operating at a loss in bad economic times. Maybe he used the NOL as a carryover in later years or maybe not, maybe he earned a lot more money later and used up his NOL quickly. Who knows.
The left always plays the division game, class envy, the assumption that one is rich because they cheat.
Well, Hillary Cheats!!!
Trump just uses laws that are on the books!
4. It got the fat Miss Universe off the news.
Yes, and he should sue the NYT.
I don’t think he leaked his own returns, and I will be *very* disappointed if he doesn’t sue the NYT. One of the best things to come out of this election cycle is the plummeting confidence levels in the press. The propagandists have gone nuts trying to take Trump down. Trump needs to do everything he can to promote the collapse of the manipulative, anti-American, anti-Democratic MSM.
The information in some of his returns from the 1970s and early 1980s was released since he had to submit them to the Atlantic City Casino Commission back in the 1980s before theyd give him a casino operating license. He lost money for two of the years he submitted, and subsequently paid no federal income taxes for those two years (he paid for the other years submitted when he actually did make a profit). That’s what Hillary was ostensibly referencing (though of course she may have already had a heads up about his 1995 taxes too...).
See justlurking’s post here, about the tax return and the “91”:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3475916/posts?page=1#1
The amount was 915,729,293 .
The washpost is clamming that dt and campaign is reeling from the tax stuff.
At this point I think that they are throwing lots of stuff to turn off the casual voter
