ATHENS, Ga. (AP) – Police say a fearful 11-year-old Georgia girl who took a knife to school told officers she needed the weapon to fend off clowns.
The Athens Banner-Herald reports the girl was arrested Friday at Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School in Athens amid reports and social media posts about clowns frightening children in Georgia and other states.
An Athens-Clarke County police report states the girl said she needed the knife to protect her and her family because she had heard the stories about clowns jumping out of the woods and attacking children.

I can relate. In the 70s, when I went on those famous cattle calls in bad neighborhoods and in awful buildings with shaky elevators, I packed a knife and mace. Never had to use them, fortunately.
Sad statement on our society. In years past, no self-respecting, red blooded male left the house without at least one pocket knife on his person. In HS, the rifle team could not fit their gun cases in the lockers, so they carried their weapons to class with them. Nobody thought anything of it...natural as can be. And American flags & Confederate battle flags on cars, t-shirts, notebooks, etc. was normal. What has happened? Leftists, of course.
