There are currently more than 6 million wild hogs on the loose in America – tearing up crops and infecting waterways. With $1.5 million in damages each year, Texans are free to use almost anything to eradicate the pigs, including blowing them up.

So I guess if your home had mice or rats...you'd leave them be since you don't intend to eat them...
That's what hogs are in Texas...pests. They are no different than the rats people put poison and traps out for....they're just bigger. They cause billions in damage eat year. They are not a game animal...they are pests. Shooting them is no different than catching mice in a trap.

He’s on Budweiser billboards here and there and some TV ads, so it was probably through no effort of your own. Maybe even unavoidable.
Hogs here are a pest. It is always open season on them and there is no limit.
You are allowed to run them over in your car.
TX game says there is no way to eradicate them; the best hope is to contain, and even that is in doubt.

I visited my daughter near Houston in July. We ate pork from one of the 2 feral hogs she shot in her back yard 2 weeks before. It was delicious.
There's nothing like a Bacon, Lettuce and Tannerite sammich.
Or just ship them to Mexico via UPS. It’s closer and would cost a lot less than FedEx to Afghanistan, Iraq or Iran.

They are delicious if prepared correctly. I like to give them a good bath to remove fleas/chiggers. Then the meat taken off the carcass is plunged into a vinegar-brine ice water mix for at least 24 hours, changing the mix until it is clear of blood. The brine pulls out blood and adrenaline and other nasties. (I once had a whitetail bruiser in the mix for 4 days, best venison I ever had). Then the pork goes into the freeze for at least another 24 as to help kill off anything else. Then, cook how you please. The small ones are the best (40 lbs and under). The big boars I leave laying.
I’m sold. Where is the best place to hunt them and do you personally know of any good guides? I know I could do an internet search but I always like a good recommendation from a fellow freeper if it’s available.
