It is astounding that there are so many gaps in the process of choosing the President. Eight years ago, we learned that there was no automatic review process in place to assure that a candidate is a natural born citizen. We still aren't even sure what natural born citizen means. With the primaries this year, we learned that the political parties can write rules that rig the nomination and that they can change the rules as they go along.

Now we learn that there is no process in place to determine who the nominee is if the chosen one is out of the race before the election. Logic says there should be an established process and it should be the VP choice or whoever came in second at the convention. If the Dems come up with something to replace hillary and the Judas Republicans approved of it, a lot of anger could boil over.

Early voting is a bad idea, as so many events can happen after those early votes are cast. What would happen to early hillary votes if they pulled a switch? Could the dems afford losing all those votes? A do-over would push a lot of folks past the boiling point, I suspect.

Logic is that DC needs a reset, including a better set of rules for choosing President. Four years of a Trump presidency is the best way to clean out the DC sewer (both political parties) and get the US back on track.

I'd really appreciate input from anyone who has knowledge and/or thoughts about these questions.

I can understand the frustration. It seems to be whoever can get away with whatever. But I believe there is a process in the Constitution that ends up relying on the House of Representatives should there be no clear Electoral College decision that is decisive.
