So Cam Newtons brain got pounded multiple times but he didnt get checked for a concussion until after the game? Dont worry, the NFL can explain everything (emphasis mine):
There was communication between medical personnel on the Carolina sideline, including the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant, and the two independent certified athletic trainer spotters in the booth. During stoppage in play while on-field officials were in the process of administrating [sic] penalties, the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant and team physician requested video from the spotters and reviewed the play. They concluded there were no indications of a concussion that would require further evaluation and the removal of the player.
Thats questionable, but its not even the point.

Jello! ROFL!!!!!!!!! lol
Yes. that offsetting penalty which included practically ENSURING Cam with have encephalitis by 50 was quite horrific.
I would gather that the 17 hits in this game alone have set him up for a “where the hell am I?” scenario at quite an early age.
Just like scrapin a knee 17 times in a row instead of over the course of 10 years, the brain doesn’t take WELL at all consistent hits in a short time frame.
A cascade of excitatory chemicals are released to combat the trauma and, ironically, can make the damage worse in the long term, as the events set into motion by a TBI can do damage for 20 plus years.
Staggering but true. Of course with one concussion, the response and damage are so minimal as to not have much/any effect long term, unless it is very severe.
5, 6 or more concussions in 10 years? Add another 150 hits, you’re in trouble.
Uh huh. If the NFL wasn't paying him a goodly amount of money, he wouldn't be there. So is he truly "unaffiliated" (I get not affiliated with a particular team)?
Denver was out to ‘get’ Cam. And did a pretty good job of it.
Surprised he stood up to the beating Denver gave him.
Aside from the spearing they gang tackled him, high/low.
The refs need to be disciplined after those ‘no call’ helmet to helmet episodes.
I’ve lost any respect for the Broncos.
Come on. Tackling the quarterback is part of the game. When you have a running threat like Newton, you have to bear down.
I think the head shot was unintentional. Newton lowered his head into it.
