Don’t think this isn’t in your community folks. I live in a well off area, and heroin addiction and overdoses are increasing at an alarming rate. Moreover, prescription drug use is reaching epidemic levels, and that spills into all classes. When some can’t get their opiates, they turn to street drugs. Alcoholism and abuse is also a MAJOR problem in this country, and it seems to be getting worse. If your friends, family, or yourself think you are drinking too much, you are.

If this is the story I heard about yesterday the parents are dead, the child soent several hours with a female police officer which raised questions from an aunt.
They look like exhausted parents to me. Would make for a funny meme if the truth behind it weren’t so tragic.
I saw a news report of a high school girlfriend, (about 15 years after graduating and not seeing her since) getting arrested for meth. She had gotten knocked up and kept using. She was a little younger than me but looked like she was in her 60s. Horrible stuff.
I have zero sympathy for heroin addicts. Most will anything for their next fix - literally anything. They have become sub-human while they are using.
That breaks my heart for that poor child. Prayers for the little guy. No child should have to live like that or have parents like that.
I have no respect or tolerance for drug addicts and alcoholics. It’s all so stupid. I’m not perfect...I have my own obsessive and compulsive tendencies, but I’m happy substance abuse is not one of them.
Just another victimless crime brought about by natural items created by Jesus himself for man’s enjoyment. Obviously, the war on drugs is the real problem here. I hope that kid thanked his parents for their noble and courageous efforts in advocating for the freedom of man to make his own choices and for helping to usher in a new period of liberty and enlightenment through the abuse of recreational narcotics.

Not many have woke up to the current Heroin problem, If people would realize where it all comes from, read the middle east its pretty obvious its the new war with drugs instead of our old war on drugs... It’s part of what has been directly funding ISIS because of Obama’s open border policy, they use smugglers that are used to getting bundles of weed over the border, now that demand has dropped because of legalized grown in the USA stuff and these smaller packages of pure heroin are simple to smuggle. They bypassed the big cities for the most part this time and went straight for small town America.
Seems like almost daily I am hearing of a friends relative or somebody my kids know in a small town somewhere that is in rehab for Heroin and that is the good case, so many others already lost them to overdose or just plain worthless junkie thieves now, that they are forced to use tough love on because they just become enablers otherwise.
A few months after my sons started at a new diesel truck repair shop, last year, a coworker with a wife and 2 young babies OD’d in the bathroom and died.
The sad thing is so many got started with legal prescribed drugs, then either switched to Heroin because it was cheaper or because their dr. stopped giving them refills... and they were already hopelessly hooked.
