Starting September 16, the Towson Town Center in Maryland will require a curfew for anyone 17 years old and younger, a measure the NAACP and other organizations call discriminatory. I think that they need to take a look at how to handle this in a different kind of way, other than just to say they are going to stand at the door and bar people. Its illegal to do that, said Tessa Hill-Aston, president of the NAACP Baltimore branch.
The malls general manager said the age policy was not spurred by any particular incident, and is meant to improve shoppers consumer experience.

How about signs saying “ALL MINORS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN”?
The clock is discriminatory? The sun is discriminatory?
As spelled out in “It Takes A Village”,private property is racist.
Mall Of America has had this policy after 6 PM for years. Works pretty good.
“Its illegal to do that,
The Center is a private business place ergo, they can make up their own rules so STFU
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
People really don’t care what happens as long as they can call it discrimination. The libs want it every way just to blame whites, republicans and Christians.
Cut the nuts off any DinDu in violation and it will stop.
I don’t go to any “mall” where there is any level of unsupervised black youth.
Things like these (brawls) are the reason that closed malls are dying and open air malls are thriving.
Apparently so!
Time apparently has a racial element to it?
Man, somebody wake up Einstein!

One “different kind of way” would be to bar entry to the mall on a classification other than age. It would be even more effective than the age profiling, but I doubt that Tessa Hill-Aston would like it any better than the age barrier.
People who like going to malls should seek reparations from those who are causing them to fail.
Yes, enclosed malls were the result of a cohesive society and low-cost energy, both of which described the America that used to be.
What if they don’t know who they are? ;)
I hate going to a mall. Our local one doesn’t have any stores of interest anyway. Did you know there is a store that sells nothing but caps?
I can shop from an endless assortment of goods from the comfort of home and have it delivered to my doorstep in two days. Why would I bother going to a mall?
Add in a safety factor, and it makes no sense at all.
I have hardly been in a traditional “mall” in 20 years. I can probably count the times I have on one hand. Never found much of anything, lately.
It’s sooooooo 1980’s. With a wee bit of the 90’s in there.
The curfew applies to **anyone** 17 years and younger.
A curfew is just a way of saying kids ought to be under parental supervision at a reasonable hour.
By calling the policy discriminatory, the NAACP is acknowledging that black kids are the problem.
By saying the mall should find some other way besides a curfew to deal with it, the NAACP is further acknowledging their refusal to take responsibility for black children.
Massa, pleeez take care o’ mah chirrens. Ah don’t wants to leave dis here plantation.
Dimwits.

Yes,the shoppers are safer but the lobbies of the multiplexes are where “youths” hang out, even in a high end mall. No ticket needed and they have access to the food.
