There was once upon a time, a scandal, which I no longer recall clearly, about Race Horses being given Lasix, and its effect on their lungs.

Since elections are often coloquially referred to as horse races, I was being indirectly sarcastic.

I'm not into horse racing, so the indirect nature of the sarcasm was missed.

Some horses (bleeders) when racing would start bleeding from the lungs, lasix was given to these horses to control bleeding. Not sure about now, but years ago when my family was in the racing business, lasix usage was only legal in certain states.
