"Good Morning Britain co-host Piers Morgan grilled 12-year-old trophy hunter Aryanna Gourdin Monday morning, comparing her killing of a giraffe to slaying her pet cat.
Gourdin, a Utah native, became the subject of heated controversy when she posted photos last week to her Facebook account of a giraffe, wildebeest and zebra she killed on an African safari.
How would you feel if I came to your house one day, and I hunted down your pet cat, and I killed it and I then posted pictures of me celebrating the slaughter of your pet cat? Morgan proudly asked the young girl. The pre-teen trophy hunter clearly agitated by the question struggled to find an answer, so her father stepped in, telling Morgan he was asking a trick question because the giraffe was not his pet.

“What purpose did it serve?” -— he just listed a bunch of them, if not for game hunts like this, these countries cannot afford their anti-poaching efforts, have you seen an elephant with its tusks hacked off rotting in the bush? I have, all you people who have never set foot in Africa and never will sitting here pontificating from your comfy western homes. Either go fund those countries and their animal protection efforts or shut up when someone else does it in their way.
I seem to recall the zoo that killed a baby giraffe. To many in their zoo. I wondered at the time why they did not give the giraffe to another zoo instead of killing it.
Talking that to a young girl is a MACRO aggression. The guy should be ashamed of himself.
You are correct. The meat goes to the villagers from the animal’s district. It is NOT wasted, but try to tell that to a bunch of brain dead pussylovers who know absolutely nothing about the subject. That goes for stuffed toys too. This young girl learned a lot about life on that Safari. She will not be one of the all too numerous screamers and screechers who populate the country today. She will know how to be independent, take care of herself, and will not be a squeemish idiot about gutting a fish or plucking a chicken.
If they were putting bullets into hogtied giraffes, I would agree. But the hunt itself is the enjoyable part, and since we have dominion over the beasts there is nothing wrong with humanely killing a giraffe that does not go to waste (as the article indicates).
Must be a lot of new liberals on FR, I've never seen anything like it, LOL.
We can agree or disagree about hunting, but to come right out and basically say, "I woudn't do it, you shouldn't be able to do it either!", is textbook liberalism.
Ah, another Gaia-worshiper. If you think the human race should not survive, this may be the wrong forum for you.
Yeah, good people only eat meat that was made at the grocery store!

EXACTLY correct!
Well, you'd better make your first shot a good one ... my cats won't let you get another.
Thank you Molly, well stated.
They kill for pleasure and that is Fing sick.

Since you are obviously not a hunter, you are sticking your nose into something you don’t know anything about. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
Even more importantly, to get a license to import the trophy back to the U.S., the hunter has to prove to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service that the hunt -- including the fees for the tag -- will actually benefit the species. The Namibian hunt for the two black rhinos (desperately endangered except in Namibia which allows hunting) is a good example. Two tags for $650,000 total, to cull two older sterile bulls that were preventing younger bulls from breeding the older bulls' cows. The Namibians would have culled the older bulls anyway, but figured out how to get wealthy Americans to contribute monetarily to preservation of the species. The anti-hunters are out in force trying to fake up reasons why hunting can't help species, so this information needs to get out there often.
I would like to see ivory made legal. Then you would see elephants being protected, periodically tranquilized to get the ivory, and the elephant sent on his way to grow more ivory.
They could then sell licenses to hunt poachers. Don't assume there would not be plenty of people willing to hunt poachers. Especially if they could get the heads mounted as trophies.
Suggest more people should go to Africa in the dry season. There is not nearly enough food for all the animals and many will die of starvation. Controlled hunts help to maintain the overall health of many species.

Voila! Finally a well informed post on the subject.
****What purpose did it serve?****
It fed and clothed a village, that’s what.
Piers Morgan backed down and did a French Sniffle when he called out Steve Crowder on Twitter and Steve responded, seems Morgan is afraid he might get the Jeremy Clarkson treatment again.
****doesnt mean they have to post the cull on social media, though...****
Yes it does. This is obviously educating people that are ignorant of its purpose.
Jeremy Clarkson is first in line, for one.. ;-)
Ya oughtta read the article....
The meat from the kill fed local orphans.
Great post!
