A 31-year-old man found himself running from bullets after a mother found him in her 16-year-old daughters bedroom, police say.
Valerie Fowler, of Paoli, Okla., shot Brandon Vail twice after she found him and her daughter kissing, according to an affidavit. Vail survived and was taken to a hospital by helicopter, while Fowler was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
The teen, who was identified in the affidavit as K.P., told police that her boyfriend had been coming over three times a week after her mother left for work at 5:30 a.m.
But on Monday morning, Fowler kicked in the locked bedroom door and fired a shot at Vail as he tried to get out of bed, according to the affidavit. Vail ran toward the hallway, while Fowler fired a second shot at him.
Michael Lewis, police chief for Paoli, about 50 miles southeast of Oklahoma City, was called about 7:20 a.m. to a nearby trailer home, where he found Vail lying on the front porch, according to the affidavit.
Investigators found bloodstains on the bed and sheets, as well as on the walls and floors of Fowlers house. They also found a handgun.
Lewis told NBC affiliate KFOR that the 16-year-old girl and a young child witnessed the shooting. Lewis was not immediately available for comment Tuesday.

NOT GUILTY!
Next.
I hear 3D printed pistols are absurdly easy to make and that gloves and a ski mask can be bought for cash at almost any Goodwill or equivalent. Just so you know.
Isn't that great?
Kissing is bad parenting? I agree, yes, most definately in the 50’s & 60’s. Maybe in the 70’s & 80’s.
But cometh the 90’s, when Bill got in charge, parents had less and less control over their kids, you’ve got the movies, TV, government screwels, and social services backing the leftists.
Now come the 2000’s, you’ve got internet.
No my FRiend, the best of parents today may very well have losers for kids, unless they can keep them in a bubble with home schooling, church, no outside media and living in a community with similar ideals.
Seriously, when homos, child molesting, trannies and all the other perversion is now considered normal, just what is kissing to a 16 yo?
Guy was over 18. Oklahoma law says it's statutory rape if the younger is more than 2 years younger than the older if the younger is under 18, even though age of consent is 16. Guy is 31. He should be charged.
What the map does not show is that the age of consent maybe 16 but an 18 year old cannot have sex legally with a 16 year old in a lot of these states. At least that how it is in my state.
Not technically a pedophile then, just a pervert. I don’t think many people care about the semantics.

Don’t know where you’re getting your information but the age of consent in Oklahoma is 16.
If you are over 18 and have sex with a girl 14 or less it’s a 1st degree rape, 14-15 2nd degree.
A 16 year old girl can be talked into anything and you know it. Their brains aren’t even done growing and their emotions are a mess. Any man messing with such a creature needs to be shot.
And?
the age of consent is 16, but if your partner is at/over the age of majority [18] then it's a crime.
Seriously, what's next? Citing the cut-off age of children on parent's insurance at 26 to mean that anyone having sex prior to that is a pedophile? -- Seriously, the point of the law is justice, and justice is NOT served by being complex.
In a state where corruption abounds, laws must be very numerous.— Tacitus
OR
The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws.
She could if the guest became belligerent and advanced against her when questioned or ordered to leave. In the home, the legal and factual presumptions tilt heavily in favor of the homeowner and family occupants. Indeed, the point of Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law was to reinforce those presumptions and to make them applicable outside the home to those who are in the right.
Let’s put it like this.
While I am not fully knowable of such laws in each state, I would, regardless of your state, strongly advise you not to shoot guests who have been invited into your home by you, or another member of the household.
Sorry, but a stranger in bed with my daughter is going to get a load of buckshot in the ass. What, I'm I going to quiz him 20 questions to find out his intent.
In the facts of the shooting we are discussing, it seems that the supposed invitee of the teen had entered in secret and in knowing disregard of the directives of the teen's mother, who was the homeowner and the adult head of household. For those reasons, and because statutory rape seems to have been intended or carried out, the claimed invitee would probably not be afforded protection as an exception to the "castle doctrine." And if he had become menacing when detected by the mother, the mother would be legally permitted to use deadly force to defend herself and her daughter without any duty to retreat.
ROFL!!!!
Actually, I used the very site you provided in your link, but upon further research, I think it needs better clarification.
I took this, from the link you provided: "In Oklahoma, the age of consent is 16, and the law recognizes an age differential of two years. This means that no person can be convicted of rape or rape by instrumentation with anyone over the age of 14, with that persons consent, unless the defendant was older than 18 at the time the sexual act occurred. Though statutory rape is a strict liability crime which does not require the prosecutor to prove that an assault occurred, it is still classified as rape under the Oklahoma penal code."
I took it to mean that if the defendant was over 18, even if the victim was 16, that statutory rape had occurred. However, upon finding further information, it's muddled, and that over 18 appears to only apply if the victim is younger than 14, depending on how it's read. So, it's best to practice that age-old advice that 16 will get you 20, and stay the heck away.
Try talking a sixteen year old girl out of something she wants! Can’t be done.
I would be hard pressed to find this mother guilty. Any grown man in my daughter’s bed in a locked bedroom would be lucky to get out of the house alive. Very sad state of the world.
