A news cameraman in Louisiana is being hailed a hero after pulling a pregnant woman out of her burning car after crashing on the side of the road.
The 21-year-old female driver, who is seven-months pregnant, became trapped in her car Tuesday after running off the road and hitting a tree in Baton Rouge .
WBRZ photographer Patrick Perry and News 2 reporter Brittany Weiss were following behind the woman on their way to an unrelated news story when they saw the burning wreck.
...
'I started hearing a voice - a very soft voice - saying ''I'm over here, I'm over here'',' Perry recalled to WBRZ.
Perry managed to get the confused and injured woman to climb over from the mangled drivers seat to the passenger side, where he was able to get her out of the car.
In footage taken by the reporter with Perry, he can be heard telling the woman to 'hold on' as he carries her to safety.

I thought journalists are not supposed to be part of the story by injecting themselves. Glad that “standard” was not followed here.
Wow, that is true heroism. How many people would run straight into a car that was on fire like that, at least fast enought do what he was able to do?
Thanks for this thread.
I used to hang out with a bunch of camera and sound techs, they’re normal, have eye opening first hand accounts of what really happened and really don’t care too much for those in front of the camera.
Well, there goes his Pulitzer Prize.
But God might have a better one in store.
t before Hwy 444.
Good thing he did not just stand there and film it
He is probably in trouble
I had the recurring nightmare for a while, where a car was burning and there was someone inside screaming and a bunch of people came up with their cell phones recording it, rather than helping the person get out
There was something similar to that here in NYC I think last year where a person fell onto the subway tracks and some guy videoed instead of helping.
Saw this on the local news from Shreveport this morning. Well done!
Glad this man stepped up. Bless him.
But, sheesh, does nobody proofread anymore?
FTA: A news cameraman in Louisiana is being hailed a hero after pulling a pregnant woman out of her burning car after crashing on the side of the road.
According to this sentence, the rescuer first crashed and then rescued a woman who was in a burning car.
Kudos to Patrick Perry!
Dude, everybody’s gotta crash somewhere man.
So wonderful to hear that this seven-month child was recognized in the news story as a "baby."
The hero who appeared to rescue the mother has "saved" two lives, not one, and one day, he can, perhaps, see a grown-up man or woman who fully appreciates the heroism he displayed by allowing this child to enjoy the "pursuit of happiness."
Hillary Clinton and her supporters should take note that there was no discussion here of a "fetus"--just a "baby" who was declared "fine."
"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty also. The hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them." - Thomas JeffersonThis story illustrates that a hand of "love" and "caring" may save, or rescue, also.
Wow, what a great story mom will have to tell that child. :)
Even more of an amazing feat as it reads.
