Ruby Tuesday plans to close 95 restaurants throughout the country, the company announced.
The locations of the restaurants to be closed have not been released, but the restaurants will be shutting down quickly. According to the company's press release, the under-performing locations will stop operations by September.
Ruby Tuesday's had 724 restaurants as of May 31, and 646 of those were company-operated.

“Goodbye... Ruby Tuesday..”
Prices are high: quality, so-so

Macy’s, Ruby Tuesday...how’s that Obama-Clinton “recovery” working out...?
Have been getting a lot of coupons in my email. Sometimes that is indicative of bad things to come...100s of jobs. Many college kids out of work just as semester starts....
I would hazard to guess. Near certain "urban" areas?
They used to have a nitch back when they had the Tuesday Trio and such. They’ve morphed into a burger joint and now a wanna-be upscale joint that’s too expensive. They used to be my brother and I’s back-up restaurant when everyone else was too busy. Of course, therein lies the problem.
A lot of them bernie-bots probably.
Hideous name. I always passed.
Hope and change strikes again. 100 Macy’s stores closed earlier this week in the news.
Same blah overpriced crap as Chili’s, Applebees, Fridays..etc
Let’s blame Amazon and the internet. Folks are obviously now eating on line since they can get two day delivery on their food.
Welp, there’s still Frisch’s! And their breakfast is hard to beat, other than cost...but ya gotta treat yourself right every so!
Be interesting to correlate that recent local minimum wage increases.
Never liked the place. If this were TGIF’s I’d be upset some.
From the “people”, that should be a Sizzler or Red Lobster. They’re dressed too nice for Chucky Cheese...
Expected - between the $15 minimum wage and health care mandates, places like Ruby Tuesday’s (sit-down food chains that try to keep prices reasonable) WILL BE TOAST soon.
The result will be either high-end places where labor cost is less of a factor, and fast-food places that can replace much of their manpower with machines, along with efficiencies associated with high volume.
Also surviving will be single-store, family-run outfits where it is much easier to have some people working off the books, and even if on the books, the higher pay stays in the family anyway, allowing the places to operate at virtually no reported profit, but with lots of money still making it to the household.
Very sad, they were nice places to eat at, particularly for people that travel but don’t want to roll the dice at family places - but there’s no way they can survive now.
But management did so well with the Morrison’s cafeteria chain.
Oh I hope they don’t close the one by me. The Burgers there are Great. Cooked just the way you ask, medium rare no problem. And I love the Salad Bar too. Drat!
