In the future, robots will increasingly replace farm workers, using artificial intelligence to plant, grow and harvest our food.

In fact, many farms are already using fleets of robots, which can tend to fruits and veggies more efficiently than a human can.

Here's a look at seven machines that are currently aiding farmers around the world.

1) The Wall-Ye prunes vineyards

2) The BoniRob destroys 120 weeds per minute

3) Abundant Robotics' bot picks one ripe apple per second

4) The Blue River Lettuce Bot thins out lettuce fields

5) The Prospera bot 'sees' dying plants before farmers can

6) The Hornet drone measures the health of crops from above

7) The Rover keeps cattle in line

NAFTA blew up the small farm economy in Mexico, the small corn and wheat farmers there were wiped out by cheaper American grain.

The result? A massive wave of illegals heading north. Just like clockwork. And unopposed by Clinton and Amnesty-loving Dubya.

Re: “The Rover is designed to herd cattle.”

If it can be programmed to herd sheep, two Rovers can film the sequel to Broke Bot Mountain.

“If it can be programmed to herd sheep”

I thought you were going to say it could take over the DNC.

My elementary school teachers took pride in the fact that we would have SO much leisure time by now because robots and computers would be doing all the risky and mind numbing labor.

Yadda, yadda, yadda, flying cars, yadda, yadda......

OMG! The exact same thought came to me and one post later it's as if it magically appeared here.

It's either scary - or comforting - to know that there is at least one like mind out there. :-)

I don’t think you’ll find many Americans who would find the life style of the Amish an acceptable trade-off for saving jobs by banning robots.
