The Week They Decided Donald Trump Was Crazy
WSJ Opinions ^ | 8-4-2016 | Peggy Noonan

Posted on 08/08/2016 10:35:36 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

Beyond that, anti-Trump Republicans treat his voters like immoral enablers of a malignant boob. Should Mr. Trump lose decisively in November they’ll lord it over everyone, say “I told you so,” and accept what they imagine will be forelock-tugging apologies. Then they will get to work burying not only Mr. Trump but his issues.

That’s where the future of the GOP will be fought, and found: on whether Trumpism can be defeated along with Mr. Trump.

Mr. Trump would care about that if he cared about that.

I end with a new word, at least new to me. A friend called it to my attention. It speaks of the moment we’re in. It is “kakistocracy,” from the Greek. It means government by the worst persons, by the least qualified or most unprincipled. We’re on our way there, aren’t we? We’re going to have to make our way through it together.

The Clintons and Obamas ARE the “kakistocracy” — Trump is striving to lead the national recovery from our “rule by the worst.”

she is financially dependent on writing speeches for the GOPe.

She would have been paid to have written a stump speech or two for the GOPe candidate by now.

They write speeches for R or D as long as the check clears.

It is rare, increasingly rare in Peggy Noonan's columns, to find a nugget of truth but here is one:

… there has been zero reflection on the part of Republican leaders on how much the base’s views differ from theirs and what to do about it. The GOP is not at all refiguring its stands.

This skirt reminds me of the Daisy Buchanan portrayal by Mia Farrow in the Great Gatsby (1974). Daisy was this fragile, thin-as-a-wisp snowflake who spoke in a wavering voice and appeared as if a slight chill would give her pneumonia.

Noonan is not Trump Team material. She may come around when she sees how the wind is blowing, but that’s easy.

The achievement of socialism requires evil means. This is what causes government by the worst persons.

This is the Wall Street Journal now going full anti-Trump. It started with the arrogant sh**head Stephens and various other elitists.

They are all perfectly fine with the Clinton Crime Syndicate in the White House because the gravy train will keep rolling along. The corporate liberals love her.

How about “kakatocracy” — it’s only pseudo-Greek; but, I think you can figure it out.

I always picture Peggy alone in a dark bar swilling white whine and gushing oceans of prose into a black composition book.

I think she wrote the phrase about the astronauts “touching the face of God” for Ronald Reagan after the Challenger disaster. That’s how she got her fame.

Hmmm - Trump refurbished the landscape of Noonan’s New York City almost single-handedly over twenty years or so - finally finished that long-delayed ice skating rink, rebuilt how many run-down hotels and office buildings, built Trump Tower, then for kicks produced and starred in several award-winning network television shows for whatever, ten?, years - while Peggy was sitting on her a$$ writing silly articles and giving shallow commentaries in her weird affected manner. Trump exhibited high-level executive abilities, built and motivated effective teams to get his projects done, and dealt with cultures and leaders all over the world successfully to keep his business growing - he’s overqualified for the presidency in comparison to what we’ve had in the past.......
