No. It's the about 20 years old PC term for Injuns ...

That would make them “FN People”, so it may not stick. I prefer “Pre-Columbus People” - PC People. But I can’t keep up with the latest non-offensive terms. I’ve pretty much concluded that a white guy is wrong no matter what he says.

I think white guys need to start taking offense. “Who you calling ‘white’? My arms are darker than Obama’s...”

Yes.

They came here from China, so they can’t be “Native Americans”.

This is just part of their fighting retreat.

Did you know that they are “Sovereign Nations” within our borders?

They dance back-and-forth between being “Sovereign Nations” and citizens of states and our nation depending on which one can get them more money from the honkies.

If so, it is a stupid term. My Siouxian ancestors were displaced from what is now the Ohio Valley by the Huron and others. They may have been displaced by upper James River Valley by the Powhattan and its forerunners before that (research is still unclear). They were displaced from what is now Minnesota by the Chippewa and ended up in the Dakotas, Montana and Wyoming largely because they were populated by weaker tribes if any tribes at all.

So who is really the first nation? More like the last nation before the arrival of white settlers.

And pity the poor Pawnee. They were originally a fairly powerful buffer nation between Sioux to the north and and Comanchee to the south. They farmed like the white man and hunted buffalo like the red man when the corn harvest was done.

But neither side fully accepted them and they were forced to accept other employment like scouts for the whites just to make ends meet.

Things got so rough by the 1870s that they were actually the first tribe to request relocation to Oklahoma Territory for their own protection.

They are really the first nation people of what is now western Nebraska, Kansas and parts of NE Colorado before it was partitioned between the Sioux and Comanche.

No, it’s been around for quite some time now.

It’s the U.N.s intent to give them more power over the lands they used to inhabit.

Naturally, Western Civilization is the big ogre here.

Western Culture is a big threat to the U.N. The U.N. wants every nation to be subservient, and the Western nations aren’t going to bow on bent knee.

It will now guilt them into oblivion if it can.

Hasn’t been working.
