Two Australian rowing coaches were robbed at knifepoint by two teenage boys in Rio in the latest security failure at the Games.
The coaches were wearing their team uniforms and were walking a short distance back to their hotel near Ipanema Beach after the opening ceremony on Friday, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
The coaches were reportedly violently assaulted during the incident after being approached by two teenage boys, including one who pulled out a knife and demanded money.

So Chicago ended up with the Olympics anyway, at least in spirit. At least nobody is dead yet, but of course it is still early in the 2-week hoopla...
Following the incident team members based around Ipanema have been instructed not to walk after 6pm, wear casual clothes and keep their accreditation hidden.
News Corp photographer Brett Costello had $40,000 of camera gear stolen from him in a cafe by a sting led by a woman.
Just days before that incident, Brazilian firemen stole Zika-protective shirts from Australia's residence during an evacuation.
Why is anyone there?
They need a special award for off site competition too.
In Brazil you don’t have to really stop at stoplights because you might get robbed if you stop.
I can't watch these Olympics. The elite US basketball players and Olympics officials are safe on their cruise ships while the Olympians in some ways put their lives at stake. Then I think of the money and time spent training athletes to perfection in some sports. How many young people of lesser means could have gotten training in a sport such as gymnastics with the amount of time and money that is now spent on one person? Then there's the invisible horror the Olympians realistically will live with their whole lives. The violent attacks and the sewage in the water are things they can see, but what about the diseases they might be exposed to that could take years to emerge?
I don't mind the simpler stories and the simpler sports, where the athletes get some fundamental coaching available to many, and take that knowledge and excel. I would love to see some of those more obscure sports from beginning to end, to get immersed in the competition and the range of skill. But how much of those endeavors do we even see?
end of Olympics rant.
Perfecto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well said.
...while they're actually partying in brothels...with the lamest of lame excuse they thought it was a spa...uh-huh
