Rudy has lots of hits in 1931 including “When Yuba Plays the Rumba on the Tuba Down in Cuba” and “As Time Goes By”, both written by Herman Hupfeld.

He was the Justin Bieber of the 1930s sans the antics.

I cannot copy the YouTube link to them on my phone.

When the LA City Council, some years back, told Vallee that they would not change the name of the street he lived on to “Rue De Vallee”, he called their decision, “A vicious and uncalled for move.”

Rudy Vallee wrote three autobios (the first presumbably ghost written). They are increasing visoius to people he did not like. I had a copy of his last written in 1976. I read parts of the others at a music research library.
