‘We’ve had ENOUGH Merkel’ Rest of Europe gangs up on Germany over crippling EU austerity
Express UK ^ | 8/6/2016 | Nick Gutteridge

ANGELA Merkel cut an increasingly isolated figure in Europe tonight as the rest of the continent ganged up on Germany over its imposition of crippling austerity.

Major EU nations including France, Italy and Spain are clubbing together to form a new alliance with the aim of wrestling back economic power from the German leader.

Mediterranean economies have been devastated by an EU-wide policy of austerity enforced from Berlin, which has led to massive youth unemployment and soaring poverty.

Fiscally conservative Germany, which is the EU’s largest economy, is reluctant to loosen the purse strings and authorise the huge injection of cash many other member states need to kickstart their fortunes.

But policies which have benefited German industry and exports have caused economic oblivion in many parts of southern Europe, and now the rest of the continent seems to have had enough.

The leaders of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus and Malta are planning to meet in Athens next month to forge a new anti-austerity alliance with the aim of wrestling back control of the European Central Back (ECB), which sets Eurozone fiscal policy, from Berlin.

It is being headed up by Greek premier Alexis Tsipras, who has frequently clashed with both Mrs Merkel and Brussels over the crippling austerity which has brought his country to its knees.

Time to see if the Venezuela effect scales up to the EU.

The USSR was pretty close so my bet is yes.

People think I’m crazy (and I am :)) but I dont rule out another war in Europe 10 years or so down the road, if they dont succumb to the muzzies first.

There is only ONE United States. The EU is a poor imitation.

Merkel is evil. She’s the German Hillary.

Flip that and start posting "Hillary is the American Merkel." IMO, if it caught on, it sure would be damaging.

Are you listening, Trump?

The, “EU”, has always been Germany’s way to rule Europe, the fools.

This sort of thing is inherent in the EU system and would normally be one of the growing pains if it weren't starting to look like a death rattle instead.

The case is this: if Germany is carrying the EU economically - we'll know how valid this supposition is when the Brits depart - then is it beneficial for the EU as a whole to enact policies that are beneficial to the water carrier? Or attempt to even the benefit out across the membership and expect to take a hit in revenue from their cash cow? They're not going to have it both ways, and a welfare state that requires revenue to support itself will be tempted to favor the principal source at the expense of the others.

Merkel is not being a nationalist here - she isn't much of one anyway, as her immigration policies show, she's a good little globalist and to hell with the German culture - but she is attempting to do what is to Germany's advantage because it follows that that is what is to the EU's advantage, at least from that globalist point of view. That's going to look like a hard, self-serving policy to the likes of Italy, Portugal, and Greece, who might benefit from a change in policy within their own economies. Too bad. The price of killing nationalism is, well, that nationalism is killed.

And perhaps, just perhaps, the ground premise that nationalism is evil and should be killed that is so foundational to the globalist point of view, is mistaken. Merkel would not like that, nor would the gnomes of Brussels, but it might just be a fact. Woe unto the ideologist whose ground assumptions are questioned, for he or she tends to depart the realm of reason.

A Belgian told me in the 90’s that their country needed more workers to fund the socialist programs. Like many industrialized countries, their birth rate was too low and the welfare state would not have sufficient funds to pay all the entitlements, so Muslims were allowed to stay. Germany may have a similar dilemma.

Especially when the government says don’t prosecute the rapists, they don’t know better, let’s blame all men and the local culture, then arrest those who oppose the newcomers from a true rape culture.

Christianity gave us hope for eternal life with Him. Modern Europeans are too cool to believe in the “myths and superstitions” of the Bible.

They have come to the logical conclusion of their nihilism. Christianity elevated women’s status in society. Christianity is evil to atheist Europeans.

The deductive syllogism leads them to believe women should be demeaned by the ultimate anti-Christians.

Warped and unfortunately unfolding right now, and they seem to have no moral high ground from which to retaliate.
