Mitt Romney, George Bush 41 and George Bush 43, as well as other mainstream Republican party figures, are set to endorse Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson next week, say sources within the "Never Trump" movement and other disaffected Republicans.
Johnson, the former Republican governor of New Mexico, is known for having balanced the budget during his 8 year tenure. The Libertarian's Vice presidential running mate is also a former Republican governor, William Weld of Massachusetts.

This is bullcrap. McCain already endorsed Trump. No way he’s going to endorse a non-republican.
2016 - the year of Truth. These jugheads were dems all along with different donors. Wish this had come out earlier so Trump could have told the truth about Ryan. #nevergope
“say sources within the “Never Trump” movement and other disaffected Republicans. “
Only plausible thing I can think of is that this is just wishful thinking on the part of the “never-Trumper” idiots, and want to just put them in the position to do that.
Bush, etc. did NOT endorse the Libertarian candidate.
Trump set them up. If they do NOT endorse Trump in return, Trump can point to them as proof of the establishment cabal in DC.
That was supposed to say just goes to show you.
Yes, the uniparty stands together.

Actually, this could be the final step in Romney/Ryan’s plan to deny the electoral votes to both Trump and Hillary......thereby compelling the decision to congress, whereby Ryan will..naturally....become POTUS via the decision made in Congress.
Think about it.....not far-fetched at all. It all adds up.
I can see Mitt Romney endorsing Gary Johnson, and can see George Bush and John McCain not openly supporting Trump, but I just can't see Bush and McCain outright endorsing Johnson.
Because nothing says libertarian like the Bushes and Romney.
There was a thread here on FR last week which stated Johnson attracts more unhappy Hillary voters than unhappy Trump voters.
I can see Romney and Bush, neither of whom have an elected office. McCain would be a fool to do this, not least wise because the Libertarian ticket is far to the left of the public (to say nothing of the GOP) on a number of issues like drug policy and immigration.
Which will sway, what, something like 2 voters?
Gimme a break. Does anyone take these guys seriously anymore?
I hope they know they are finishing off the Republican Party. I would never vote for another Republican again.
Absolutely, the articles promoting Johnson’s inclusion are already hitting.
... They are crazy because if Hillary wins she won’t be POTUS very long and then Kaine will step in -— we must get this regime out this November.
Trump did right by sort of endorsing McCain if he knew McCain was going to endorse Gary Johnson. McCain can’t use Trump as an excuse for being a traitor to his political party.
