Someone please give me some tips on how to close my Facebook account.
If you deactivate it, no one can view or post to your page, but all your ‘friends’, etc. remain. If you log back in afterwards (and you can), you’ll effectively un-deactivate your account.
If you really, REALLY want to go away (I did and haven’t missed it one bit), then you want to delete it.

Don’t deactivate. Load it with as much crap as you can. Probably the best way to kill FB is make them store boatloads of crap.
Since they use facial recognition programs to “help you tag” people I once did a search on my name. I then saved the photo of every one that shared my name and then posted and tagged myself on facebook - almost two hundred so far.
And since they all share the same name, it would prove difficult (not impossible) to figure out which one is me.

I’ve heard that you should delete every photo on the site and as many posts as possible.
Facebook is where a majority of young people get their news. It’s horribly leftist. They make billions and pay zero in U. S. taxes - likely because they cut a deal with the Dem party. Same thing with Google. Horribly biased.
I saw an expert who said google alone could swing a few million votes this election. Control the narrative by controlling search results.
I don’t do FB, but have heard it’s the cyber equivalent of The Hotel California.

You can delete all you want on FB and they save it all and if you come back they will reinstall it all.
You just need to make a few socially unacceptable remarks or let them know you are a memeber in good standing on THIS web site and they will surely ban you.
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
I just keep it to be able to get on FB if needed and to piss those Zuckerberg idiots off that I won't engage in their social media like everyone else does.
If FB ever hounded me about putting more stuff on my page (there is nothing on it now and hasn't been for years), then I would deactivate it. But otherwise, I'm not sure if they even know I exist.
Go back in time to the moment you first considered joining Facebook.
Then shoot yourself.
Also, make sure to ‘REMOVE’ cookies from facebook, including doing a search for ‘fb’ cookies for removal, THEN set ‘http://facebook.com'; to ‘BLOCK’ from receiving any further cookies!!!

Thanks for the hint about linking to the e-mail accounts. I don’t have a Facebook account, but have been tempted at times when friends have asked me to start one. I probably never will, but if I do, I’ll open and use a special e-mail account for it.
I cancelled mine in 2010 and it’s gone.
