I posted an advert on Armslist for the last firearm I own. These are tough times for me, I am unemployed and had no reserve fund. Thankfully, I just consummated the sale so now I can rest easy financially.
I got a message: "I live in TN but work on GA. .....Would you be willing to sell it to me? Also, can you take pictures and send them to me? Thanks."
Well THAT would break the law!
My response: "I'm afraid not. .....but the law in Georgia (and perhaps federally) is that in order to sell a firearm in a private sale (with no FFL transfer), both parties must be residents of the same state. Otherwise an FFL transfer is required. There are no exceptions.......In the event you didn't know that, please take note. They will merrily prosecute you too, law-enforcement or no......just a heads up for your benefit...."
DO NOT TRANSFER A FIREARM IN A GEORGIA PRIVATE SALE unless both you and the buyer are both Georgia residents. Don't go afoul of Federal Law!!!
I’ve read your excellent posts many times Laz. It’s a privelege to be a citizen of the same state as you. I hope financial times get better for you. You have to be either a teat-sucking minority or a rich goldman sachs type to get any help from the regime.

Hang in there Laz. The world needs more Lazamataz not less!
There was an effort to hold a “no vendor” gun show in northern AZ a while back. However, on the day it was snowed out, which is likely a good thing, because the estimated crowd would have filled a large football stadium, and the venue for the show could only handle a few hundred at once.
A typo, I know...but when you think about it...:-)
Any response from the prospective buyer, btw?

I’m hoping you also reported this to the Armslist mods. I’m sure they would be interested. They could even put up a heading on the sales forum calling attention to the firearms transfer laws.
I actually made that suggestion. They’ve responded so I know they’ve seen it.

Pssst...bring that gun to the shoot. Bet you’ll find some interest. :)
Thanks,Laz,
Good luck to You!
You wrote many kind words, unfortunately they are ment for Lazamataz, not me.
No worries! I CC’d him on this post!
Thank you! If you’re a friend of Laz, then your a friend of mine. “Hang together or hang separately”
It’s happening to more and more good Americans these days but I do hate seeing good people going through tough times because of this failed ideology that the whole leftist culture pushes on us everyday.
There is hope in this movement that Donald Trump represents though. It feels good to be part of that movement so that good Americans are able to work hard to prosper again. Let’s hope and pray this movement is successful so that hard working Americans can once again, be successful.

The added Hillary defense, “I ‘get it’ and I would never do it again” also doesn’t work unless the person is a corrupt elite living in the DC area.
Real everyday people can’t break the law and get away with bullsh*t excuses. This has become such a corrupt country.
You’re in my prayers Laz...
Awh. I feel all fuzzy inside. :)
I own a tool and die business, when times get slow like now I quote and build just about anything that comes across my desk.
Until now that is, just got handed this by a friend.

I know a lot of guys play around with this stuff here, best be aware that if you even make a new butt stock you can be nailed for it it seems.
Great response. If not an entrapment ploy, then certainly a really incompetent federal law enforcement agent. Either way, you lose if you take the bait.
