Vanity - what do we hope the GOP leadership will learn from a 2016 Election Autopsy - Vanity

(The "Autopsy" from the 2012 election, which led to the universal embrace of Amnesty by most GOP candidates other than Trump in 2016 - and was the reason establishment candidates were so resoundingly rejected by mainstream conservatives).

I don't do many vanities (one in a decade, having posted under a different name previously), but this seems like a good question. It's not too early to ask, since we'll be distracted once the November results are in. Today is when we have the best view of how the establishment sees the beating they took in the primaries.

What will the party leadership learn from this election if Trump wins (it could happen with the massive support that we all know is coming)? Loses (it could happen with the massive vote fraud that we all know is coming)?

What would conservatives like for them to learn from this election?

If Trump loses, I assume the establishment will decide that immigration is an immediate threat to their place at the public trough, particularly with the party leaders who have faced serious primary challenges or those who took their leadership positions after they were voted out. I expect their response to be forcing Amnesty through as soon as Hillary's wide load hits that seat in the Oval Office. They will try to clear Amnesty, Obamacare, and gun restrictions from the political debate by passing new, harmful laws acceptable to Hillary on all three issues early enough that they can dismiss those issues as "old news" when they face the voters again.

If Trump wins, I assume their response will be almost the same, except positive. They will try to clear Amnesty, Obamacare, and gun restrictions from the political debate by passing new, positive laws acceptable to Trump on all three issues early enough that they can dismiss those issues as "old news" when they face the liberal commentators again. They'll modernize legal immigration to make it work, as Trump enforces existing laws. They'll repeal most of Obamacare (thank God!), and they'll repeal some stupid gun laws - not that they care but to make us happier.

Other thoughts?

This link to the 2012 “autopsy” should work.

I’m reminded of the scene in Independence Day where the prez asks what the aliens want from us.

The alien says something like “We want you to die.”

I want the GOP to go away, for the RINOs to merge with the Ds where they belong, and for a truly constitutional/conservative/America first party to arise.

What I HOPE they learn is the following:

“By fighting the enemy ON HIS TERMS, rather than saying “above the fray” is how you win.”

What they will instead CLAIM to learn is the following:

“Like or or not, Hate and Divisiveness is a winning formula, but it still wrong”

Even though they know the first is the REAL REASON for Trump’s huge margin of victory - they will still claim the second. No different than the way 2012’s ‘autopsy’ barely disguised the leadership’s push for all-out Amnesty.

The “leadership” will think that Super Delegates, like they have in the democrat party, are a great thing.

The GOPee will learn that most of America is their enemy and they need to double down on implementing Hussein’s K Street policies.

It isn’t over, and as of right now they have learned nothing.

State and local elections are going to be brutal against the eGOP.

After watching the Cubanadian “Constitutional Conservative” campaign I’m not so sure I want a self proclaimed “CC.”

I’d be satisfied with a “Pro American” candidate that puts our nation’s people “First.” A candidate that does that will BE a “CC” with no need to proclaim it in an attempt to get my vote. Just let me know you’re for “Joe Six Pack” and what you’re going to do to unleash his ability to power our economy/nation.

I don’t want to hear any more of that “I’m a citizen of the world” or Globalist junk.

They’ll learn what the center-left has been saying since the 80s: “America is ungovernable”

The social democrats in both parties profess democracy until the people resist the socialism.

Whatever the GOPe learns from the 2016 elections, it will probably be the wrong lesson, if past experience is any indicator.

I want something similar. I want the RINOs to merge with the Ds where they belong, and for the GOP under Trump's leadership to become a truly constitutional/conservative/America first party. Maybe I'm an optimist, and the party cannot be co-opted by its voters, but I keep hoping. Otherwise, I want the Constitution and the rule of law to be restored as Malcolm X would say "by any means necessary".

The one thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history.

This is a war and not a life’s lesson. There will be no graduates. There will be the victors and the vanquished. The are and the was.

The 2016 election is a mere battle in the war between good and evil. Even if Trump has a Reagan-like landslide, and even if he sweeps in a huge flood of new constitutional conservative republicans (or people who pretend to get elected and then to get reelected) to Congress, the war will go on. Those who want power over others will not give up just because Trump wins this round.

It won't matter.

When George Bush said he feared he would be the last Republican president everyone thought he was talking about the effect of Trump being the nominee. In my opinion that's not what he meant at all.

IMO, What he meant is that he fears the level of corruption is at the point where the election is irrelevant. Hillary will win as will all socialist/marxists from this point on. I think he believes his election for his second term was the last one where the actual vote of the people determined the winner.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't see how anything else can explain the actions of so many in our government that allowed Hillary to be cleared of any wrongdoing.

IMO, Bush knows the fix is in.

This is a very unique situation. One side consequence IMO is if he wins it might lead to more celebrities and billionaires getting in to politics on both sides. Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) is already talking about it generically for the future, for example. Most seem to think he is a Republican, but obviously there are more celebs on the other side. It will affect them too.

As for the issues, He’ll either win and hopefully do something about immigration and globalism, or lose and the issues are essentially over to the political class. Not to be overly dramatic, but I think we are at the final exit on the interstate for immigration. If he loses, we are going into never never land....same with globalism.

Even if he wins, what will he get accomplished? Hard to say.

I recently reviewed through my family’s history in the Civil War. Lots of my ancestors and their brothers died at Gettysburg, at Antietam, and in other battles, in both sides of that war. I’m hoping we’re not headed there again.

The cost of a second civil war would be extremely high. Then I look at the alternative as big government clamps down on freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the individual right to keep and bear arms, protections against unreasonable search and seizure, protections against excessive fines, states rights, and the rest of our constitutional protections. The alternative to civil war may be even worse than war itself, and our ability to protect ourselves from tyranny will only shrink over time.

Whatever else, it’s time for prayer. As Frank Loesser sang, “Praise the Lord, and . . .”

I'll agree there, except that it is not possible to be overly dramatic about this election. If Trump loses, this will be the last election that matters in America's history, unless the American people fight a second civil war to restore freedom.

It's time, past time, to invest in precious metals: gold, silver, lead, brass, stainless steel, and blued steel.
