I would wager that even if you're someone who bleeds Ferrari red and has bones made from old Chevrolet Camaros, you would consider buying a Prius, if you honestly considered the decision..... Seeing it actually happen in reality is another story. What a glorious car. I don't care if it's the automotive equivalent of eating low-fat plain yogurt. I'm happy to suffer that pain. Besides, it's a comfortable car. The seats aren't benches of wood. You can make the AC blow as hard as you want. It can play classic rock, and play it sort of loud.
The Prius cultivates in the driver the closest thing to a condition of peace I've ever experienced behind the wheel. It also makes you a better citizen: You embrace the speed limit... I don't even think this is demographic destiny. The Prius isn't really an expensive car. You can be a tree-hugging liberal and get one and that makes sense. But I don't know why someone who leans rights and wants to chop down a lot of trees wouldn't want to spend less than $250 a year on gas.
Beyond that, all the Prius haters are completely misguided in their hatred but not because the Prius is a magnificent car deceptively cloaked in sheets of boring. Rather, because the Prius is the first successful car that isn't trying to be a car.

Loving my powerful new Dodge Challenger. I see a Prius and just shake my head. Enjoy your crapmobile greenie. I am loving my gorgeous muscle car.
I heard Corollas and Camrys have the least time spent in repair shops.
(According to Scotty Kilmer on YouTube)
Define “value”.
Nope. Propaganda. I have several family mechanics and each say modern Toyotas are no worse or better and older Toyotas were much worse.
Really?
Oh well.
I have a fifteen year old Ford Taurus that I’m very happy with.
I’m gonna hate when it needs replacing.
Some years back a car magazine did have an economy race London to Paris (?), a diesel BMW did win it!
Our son has one of the infamous VW TDI’s, at higher highway speeds (70+) I think he has the edge.
Stop and go or local driving, Prius wins.

Only a two seater!
Our Prius V seats 5, Canada and Euro it is seven seats!
Tis a thing of beauty!
If used to, say, haul your quarter horses.
That would require a much different vehicle type.
Perhaps a tradesman with the day’s material to be installed.
The value would be derived from the profits of the project.
Thanks! It was a fun build.
But usually a car is just transportation.
Never heard of a Prius Hater. Is that the new Boogieman?
The only issue I have against any Electric or Hybrid Vehicle is the Tax Credit given out by the Government, Federal and State to those who purchase one.
The Car Company benefits and the person who chooses to Buy or Lease the Car benefits. The Taxpayer, not so much.
I don’t work and pay Taxes so somebody else can make a Down Payment on a Car using my Money.
I do not care what anyone else chooses to spend THEIR OWN MONEY on. Not my problem until the Government makes it my problem.
In my exposure a Prius is a well made, economical car for people who really aren’t all that into cars. Reasonably roomy, the tech is tried and true, very reliable. But they’re dull as dirt for anyone who enjoys driving.
There is more to “value” than money.
I merely said that we saw a Tesla driving on the road - I know about the taxpayers subsidizing that company which should not be allowed.
The Ford non-Lithium-ion batteries do great. The video below shows that at 230,000 miles in a taxi, the whole pack was holding 85% of the original charge. Should be good for a while.
My girlfriend had one. It was ok and the mileage was nice, BUT THE CVT TRANNIES SUCK!!
I see, wouldn’t have one.
