Utah man says he’s a woman to help get justice for men in bars, pool parties on Strip (Nevada)
LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL ^ | July 30, 2016 | PAUL HARASIM

Posted on 07/31/2016 6:48:55 AM PDT by ConservativeStatement

It was about a year ago when Steve Horner told young proprietors of the Wet Republic Ultra Pool at the MGM Grand that he had just transitioned to a woman and should be allowed to pay the woman’s price of $20 to get into the pool party.

They looked him up and down and saw no signs that the person stood before them ever had any intention of being a woman for anything other than not paying the $33 entry fee for a man.

If he thought he was really 62 in his own mind does he get the Senior discount? If I believe myself to be 70 can I retire now with greater Social Security benefits?

Very interesting. Under the logic of Federal government non-discrimination rulings, it seems obvious that facilities will have to change their rules to offer the same prices irrespective of sex, gender, orientation, or species. Everyone pays $27.50, including dogs.

It will probably take longer than this guy has to work through the courts, but I applaud his efforts to reveal the absurdity at work. I think.

p.s., Why does anyone pay to attend a “pool party”? Are there unlimited free drinks?

I believe Minnesota declared ladies night at bars unconstitutional a while ago actually.

The amenities offered vary from place-to-place. Start with cabanas with added comforts. DJs (music), drinks, the usual but with a cover charge, only those who pay are generally admitted. It is a pricier way of saying pickup joint.

Good. They ARE unconstitutional. If there is a more obvious case of sexual discrimination, I can't image what it is.

Just had a thought. If one is convicted and facing prison could one claim to be a woman and demand to be sent to a prison for women?

Reminds me of the time a liberal said how capital punishment is racist because a higher percentage of blacks are put to death than whites. The argument included numbers based on percentages of the U.S. population I countered with capital punishment must be sexist, then, because males make up a lower total of the population and are put to death in much higher numbers than women. That ended that discussion, after the expected liberal commentary. As Rush Limbaugh once said many years ago, “A liberal can never win an argument when it is based on facts.” Another case-in-point.

So the drinks aren’t free?

Do the hotels not have pools free to guests anymore, or is this something different for non-guests?

Presumably it could be done by state legislation, as well.

You forgot to mark your post as satire.

Genderism: confusion, wrapped in stupidity, inside perversion.

IronJack made a flatly correct factual statement. The definition of “sexual discrimination” is “treating people of different sexes differently,” just as the definition of “racial discrimination” is “treating people of different races differently.”

This is for non-guests but I do believe sections of pools come at a cost for guests as well. Usually, the main areas of the pool only require a room key, at least that is my experience. I don’t know of any pool parties that give free booze in such instances as you asked. Otherwise, for $30 or $50, people would be drowning themselves in that option.

So private businesses are now told how run their business. Sounds like the ‘owner’ of the quit-rent is exercising it’s self anointed authority and treating this as a minor case of Lèse-majesté.
