I picked up The Wall at a yard sale for a buck. My brother gave my vinyl edition to my niece. Grrrrrr....
That’s my favorite era of Floyd, but not $700 worth. I’ve gotten the King Crimson super obsessive box sets, those are $10 a disc (so around $300) I can fly to that. Over $20 a disc seems gougy.
Obscured by Clouds is one of my favourite Floyd albums.
Way too much Pink Floyd.
Umma Gumma, Meddle, Live At Pompeii, Dark Side Of The Moon, Welcome To The Machine, Animals...
That’s my Pink Floyd.
This is pretty much pre- Dark Side stuff. The band has for decades pretty much ignored this period and been embarrassed by it. But for many hard-core fans the improvisational live shows and setlists that were pretty much dropped forever after DSOTM make this period the most creative and interesting for some. I think the price is down to around $500 if one shops around but the official Floyd merchandise site states that the music cd’s will be made available individually in 2017. I’ve been waiting over 2 decades to hear a few songs - outtakes from More. Knowing Floyd’s high standards I imagine most of the stuff here will be in superb quality compared to much of the bootlegged versions.
Ummmmm...
HOW much?
pfflt. +
I’ll grab it from Ebay or Amazon in 2 years for, what?, $40 ?
Deo volente.
Money, it’s a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream
Think I’ll buy me a football team
Welcome to the (money) Machine
I know what I want for Christmas!
Those aren’t “Floyd’s High Standards” they have a lot to do with Alan Parsons standards.
27 disk set? That’s more Pink Floyd than I could handle for the rest if my days.
One of my all-time Floyd songs from that era was Rick Wright’s “Paintbox”.
You said it. "Pyramid" is still one of the best albums to listen to with the headphones.
That anti-Semite Roger Waters doesn’t get a dime from me.
I enjoy Pink Floyd but there’s no band I’m spending $700 on. I guess this will sort out the truly dedicated from mere fans....
Don't worry. It'll show up on the Pirate Bay shortly after it gets released.
Emily tries but misunderstands
“Those arent Floyds High Standards they have a lot to do with Alan Parsons standards.”
Exactly. I think the term “genius” is overused but I consider Parsons a true genius. Love his work, especially with The Alan Parsons Project.
Saw them live four times, twice DSOTM (pre-release), once Animals and at the CWRU Adelbert Gym in 1971 - best sound ever in a venue where really bad acoustics are the norm. Early Floyd live really took things to another level.
