This is pretty much pre- Dark Side stuff. The band has for decades pretty much ignored this period and been embarrassed by it. But for many hard-core fans the improvisational live shows and setlists that were pretty much dropped forever after DSOTM make this period the most creative and interesting for some. I think the price is down to around $500 if one shops around but the official Floyd merchandise site states that the music cd’s will be made available individually in 2017. I’ve been waiting over 2 decades to hear a few songs - outtakes from More. Knowing Floyd’s high standards I imagine most of the stuff here will be in superb quality compared to much of the bootlegged versions.

Those aren’t “Floyd’s High Standards” they have a lot to do with Alan Parsons standards.

One of my all-time Floyd songs from that era was Rick Wright’s “Paintbox”.

Piper was one of my first records. That along with Saucerfull of Secrets and Ummagumma were by far their the best. AHM & Meddle were transitional to the DSOTM and beyond Floyd but were also among my favorites. Like somebody else said, wait a few years and pick it up used for $100 or so.

Saw them live four times, twice DSOTM (pre-release), once Animals and at the CWRU Adelbert Gym in 1971 - best sound ever in a venue where really bad acoustics are the norm. Early Floyd live really took things to another level.
